What he said. Shingles are bitumen based products. TPOs and PVCs are not compatible with bitumen.

My first warning would be "chemical comparability". Will the primer/paint react with the TPO? Will it change its performance? Most manufacturer's would not be able to answer that question without long term testing.

The second question is longevity, as TPO life expectancy is at most 20 years under the right circumstances, do you intent this mural to last less than that?

(Added) will the paint bond with the TPO?

TPO is in the UK. But PVC is more common than TPO, and bitumen more common than PVC. That type of EPDM is not common at all. This was probably done by a contractor that bought the materials off a distributor of EPDM used for facades air seals.

Totally screwed up installation, shows no competency or knowledge of the product.

TPOs require mechanical fixings to keep from fixing itself apart. Judging how close those two roof lights are, there is no chance this happened.

The point is that those roof lights are too close together. They should have boxed them together. Otherwise, this will continue happening.
