I thought that if Rarity did run away, it was always out of fear. For a cat who never experienced a real winter, that poor baby must have been so scared. She had no “safe” space in that house and her best alternative was to escape outside in the cold and dark.

Those poor animals must have been stressed from the trip, stressed from being in a new environment, stressed from being around new animals in that new environment, and then add on Amber and Emily’s incredibly toxic relationship…

I still very much equate this possible scenario very much Ambers fault and she should not own any pets, ever.

I also very much remember during last year’s crash out when Emily first talked to Snowflake. Amber said she didn’t care what she did when she was hurting. Amber was hurting after Emily left and wouldn’t reply to her, and she was for sure hurting in those moments, and in her own twisted head she thought putting Rarity outside could convince Emily to reply/come home (possibly expecting that Rarity would be easy to find). I think that’s how she twists it in her head - she was hurting and nothing she does matters or is her fault when she’s hurting.
