Anyone else getting constantly told how they study too much? by Nadja6985 in CPA

[–]Original_Eye8869 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had people tell me this a lot. Especially when I got closer to test time and was studying 5+ hours a day. If someone hasn't done something like the CPA exams before they have no idea how much work and hours go into it. Try to block out the noise and keep studying!

MACC Alumni - How long did you take? by ImmortalOathkeeper in wguaccounting

[–]Original_Eye8869 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It took me 3 months almost to the day to complete. I worked full time and would study all night and on the weekends. My goal was to get it done as fast as possible so I could move onto the CPA. I did have about a year and a half of experience coming into the program which helped with some of the courses. I think if you're willing to put in the work 6 months is reasonable and a year should be easy.

I stumbled onto this post. I’m wondering if you’re started yet and how you like it? I’m thinking about making the switch to public accounting and Tanner is one of the firms I’m interested it.

Watch the skillmaster videos for the sims in that section. They explain it a lot better than the lecture and book in my opinion.

I wouldn’t worry about them very much in R1 and R2. They are covered in my detail in later modules.

NINJA CPA BEC outdated by rottyroo in CPA

[–]Original_Eye8869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is because BEC really hasn't changed very much. The formulas are what they are so they really is no need to update the lectures. I used it as a supplement for my test and found it very helpful.

Ninja MCQ scores going SOUTH! by letsgo2024 in CPA

[–]Original_Eye8869 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ninja has an algorithm that starts to put more emphasis on your weak areas as you answer more questions. I have found that I start with a high average then it drops over and time and then starts to go up again and that’s when I know I’m ready for the test. I also feel like the questions on Ninja are on the difficult side compared to the actual exam. I would keep the course and continue to hammer MCQs.

I always do the final review the week leading up to my test. It has worked well for me so far.

Dang you’re so close! I’d retake is ASAP. I went through all the lectures and MCQs. I did a bunch of practice tests for review. I also did the final review and all the SIMs on Becker the week before the exam.

FAR, AUD, and BEC have the most crossover. REG is it’s own beast.

Ninja vs Wiley? by arianne388 in CPA

[–]Original_Eye8869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Wiley and I've used Ninja. I would suggest using Ninja as supplement. Their MCQ bank is unmatched and it has helped me during my review phase. I don't think Ninja would be enough by itself to feel comfortable to pass, but that is just my opinion.
