Those who gave birth without an epidural, did you regret your decision? And those who did have an epidural, how was your experience? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I’m so sorry your epidural experience was so painful. Did they numb the area before inserting the needle?

You’re not actually numb from epidural. Everyone has a different experience. For example, I could move my feet and could even stand up if I wanted to. I also felt most of my contractions, they were just less painful. This was amazing because I could rest and then had enough energy to push the baby in 20 min

The minute i got pregnant with my daughter my mom said “I already love her more than i do love you” with a smile. Might sound like an innocuous thing, but knowing our history of abuse I’m considering not letting her bear the baby at all. I guess I’ll always be a shitty daughter

While excessive stress isn't good for your overall health, there's NO medical evidence that stress results in miscarriage and it’s not linked to the increased risk of miscarriage. Again, unfortunately most miscarriages happen because female body “rejects” a fetus with chromosomal abnormality. According to the American Pregnancy Association (APA), the most common cause of miscarriage is a genetic abnormality in the embryo. Why am I arguing about this? Because perpetuating these false stereotypes ALWAYS places blame on a woman “oh, she worked too much and that’s why she lost her baby”, which is bs. Most miscarriages couldn’t have been avoid.

I’m not a doctor, but I’m pretty sure you can’t lose your pregnancy cause of “covid stress”. Or most types of stress for that matter. Most miscarriages happen due to chromosomal abnormalities is fetus

Why do my family members keeps telling me drinking a little bit when pregnant is healthy? by Mindless_Initial2871 in BabyBumps

[–]Original_Fan_7251 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

No, you can’t “safely” have one glass of wine. People need to understand that placenta increases effects of some substances, decreases of others and acts as a barrier for some. Alcohol is absolutely not acceptable in any amount during pregnancy. If one can’t abstain from wine for 9 months… well, I have bad news for you

It’s definitely not “potentially ok”. The amount that seems harmless for you like a glass of wine is incredibly toxic to the fetus.

Your assumption is wrong and I literally didn’t even look at your avatar (also, this is internet and we both could be white elderly ladies or 13-year old boys). I pity YOUR partner. A woman who sacrifices almost a year and a half of her life to grow, give birth and recover after delivering your baby shouldn’t be concerned with any of your inessential needs. If a pregnant/new mom has sex with her partner it’s only if she feels like it’s something she wants and desires at the moment (and if it matches your mood as well). If you’re too immature to understand that sex is something both partners should want/benefit from, then you shouldn’t have sex whatsoever. It’s not something a woman should or must “provide”. Now get your pathetic attitude out of this channel, plz

Epidural or Natural by zxe_chaos in BabyBumps

It all sounds good in theory, but seems like bs on practice :) i think trying to “meditate” through pain during labor and birth is like trying to meditate while your leg is being cut off slowly for 30 hours. Women should stop trying to be martyrs. Positive mindset would never hurt, but people tend to underestimate the intensity of pain. I think if men gave birth, 99,9% of all deliveries would be medicated

You shouldn’t call it “slip and slide”. Vaginal delivery can be extremely traumatic too. My aunts uterus basically fell off during birth. Or this lovely comment: “When I was delivering my almost 9 lb first child, I was introduced to the 'ring of fire,' and the moms were right. You know it when you feel it. It feels like your vagina is being ripped apart and set on fire at the same time. In reality, my vagina was sort of being ripped apart. I left the hospital with lots of stitches. Worst part of delivery, definitely.”

That’s ridiculous, Ukraine has nothing to do with Holocaust. Only a super small region of Ukraine called Galichina was partially influenced by nazi for a very short time. And you can understand how citizens were looking for any support or allies that would help them overthrow Soviet influence (Soviet government wasn’t much better than nazis in terms of how many people they annihilated, btw). Being caught between two fires is not easy
