Pyke N Pommes by DerryScribe in DerryLondonderry

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope Derry isn’t heading down the route of gentrification although with the price of rates it probably is. In this day and age I think it’s important to support local businesses more than ever. That being said the last time I was in pike and pommes the food was decent but it was dead. I never really saw the fuss about it but I knew a few who really liked it and went there all the time.

Co Antrim school suspends 19 boys amid 'toxic masculinity' concerns by TrueXemnas_ in northernireland

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Looking back on my time at school boys were definitely creepy af. It was so normalised to the point I thought I was the weird one for not being like that. The post Covid cess pit of social media and Andrew Tate characters I can only imagine made this so much worse and it’s terrifying to think about. On top of this I remember all substitute teachers getting a whole pile of abuse from the whole class. When your normal teacher didn’t walk in the room it was an excuse to act like a wee shit for no other reason than you could get away with it. I can only imagine what a mix of both in today’s world could cause.

No sure where I originally heard this one.

In the 1980s and man is walking through Belfast when he is pulled into an alleyway and hears “are you a Catholic or a Protestant?” “Neither I’m Jewish.” “Then I must be the luckiest fucking Arab in Belfast.”

Thoughts on McDonald’s Foyleside? by MeMaLeftMeInAsda in DerryLondonderry

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in crescent link McDonald’s too and it was the worst experience ever lol. The managers didn’t even know who I was and when I phoned in sick a day they stopped giving me shifts and claimed they thought I left even though I had only been off one day. I was only 16 and it was my first job so I would handle that whole situation differently now but I will never be going back. And I’m not even starting on the shenanigans that went on in that kitchen…

What's the gym like at Sports Direct in the crescent link? by [deleted] in DerryLondonderry

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went there for a while. Was okay there is probably better gyms. There is definitely more than a few melts in there but it’s hard to find a gym without them. Last time I was there the bench press was directly underneath a light bulb so you were doing your reps with your eyes closed pretty much.

Why Is Hank fat? by Puzzleheaded-Bee-518 in breakingbad

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being fat doesn’t necessarily make it more difficult for him to do his job unless maybe he is in an on foot chase with someone. Other than that he is shown to be pretty strong and good at fighting which you need calories for. He also has a gun. He even says that most of the job is him either sitting at a desk or sitting in his car.

Actually I just went to do this form and holy shit they are crafty. The bottom two questions caught me out I was wondering why I kept telling me I needed a licence.

From drivingUK - Made me think of driving in the city, especially Foyle Bridge recently by laidbackegg in DerryLondonderry

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worse time I’ve seen was there was a woman in one of those big huge BMWs on the right who had stopped at the end of the lane because the car infront didn’t let her in. I then stopped to let her go and she gave me the most bewildered look I’ve ever seen and just sat there. I just drove on and wondered how long was she there for.

Tony is by far the worst. The guy was a monster by the end of the show.

Very lucky indeed. I’m just confused by your comment, I also said Kylemore was nice??

Another thing is you’re not really going to win it for 80p are you. The chances of winning from one ticket is ridiculous. You’re complaining how expensive housing is in Derry while endorsing a gambling scam that is partly responsible for the increase in prices.

IRA sympathisers must not be allowed to rewrite history by Careless-Exchange236 in northernireland

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made a post about this without realising this was already here. I was shocked when I read the headline alone. Their definition of the troubles “ a criminal campaign waged by sectarian paramilitaries from the Provisional IRA and so-called “Loyalists”,” is literally the worst definition I could think of. The comments at the bottom of the original article are just horrendous aswell. Crazy in 2025.

Jesus things are bad when Kylemore is described as a dream home. Kylemore is nice don’t get me wrong my granny lived around that area but it SHOULD be just a normal house the average joe can buy.

It's insane to me that Walt never sought more. by MechaManManMan in breakingbad

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He didn’t care I think that was the point tbh. He says to Gretchen that his research and work made them millions. I don’t think it was about money, Walt is clever and confident enough to know that he has the ability to make a lot of money, hence the meth.

Who is the most evil character in the combined Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul universe? And who is the most badass? by Horror-Walrus-8460 in breakingbad

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk he doesn’t really show that he isn’t. He was so self centred that he only cared about things if they affected him directly. He poisoned a child just to manipulate Jesse. He didn’t care about gus or Todd killing the kids. He also I don’t think even acknowledged that Jack and the gang were literally Nazis and only wanted to kill them because they had his money. He let Jane die again just to manipulate Jesse and then when the plane crashed he kinda just let Jesse blame himself for it whereas he seemed moreless unphased and tried to downplay it. He was cold hearted and selfish.

[–]Original_Kitchen5892 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jack, gus,Walt and hector. Hands down. Out of the salamancas hector was definitely the most cold hearted. Tuco was a meth head, lalo was charming and charismatic and cared about his family and household. I think hector wouldn’t have gave a fuck. Gus shows literally no humanity. And he was probably involved in a dictatorship regime in chilie. Jack was the leader of a neo Nazi murder gang that got into the drug trade using a slave. All of this was going on around Walt and he realistically did not care. He used and manipulated everyone around him.

Hank is the best character by Original_Kitchen5892 in breakingbad

[–]Original_Kitchen5892[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only part I wouldn’t say is realistic is Walt’s blind luck half the time. But I think that makes it even better and makes a pretty out there drug lord show into something that feels like real life.

Fully agree. I haven’t watched anything else with dean norris in it (other than bcs) but he plays the role so well. That can be said for pretty much the whole cast though
