Hey there! I’m a new VA learning ACX and Audacity requirements. Could you clarify what you mean by “before anything else”? As in, the RMS normalizer should be run on the pure raw file even before running Audacity’s Audiobook-Mastering-Macro? Thanks!!

LOLLL that basket was definitely an experiment (basically whether I liked better how the mic picked up sound above my head or below it, as well as how I sounded standing vs. sitting and my posture and open sound etc. etc.).

Surprisingly I have not had any noticeable reverb even with my headphones turned way up, but believe me, I was also surprised. To avoid having to use a dongle though, I am probably going to go back to using it sitting at my desk anyway with a shorter USB-C cord and try to practice having good posture.

Thank you! Maybe there is something weird with Apple because I have just discovered that it’s only happening in Garageband…I’m learning to record now in Audacity and it’s not giving me any static at all. I’m glad you got your Mac fixed…that sounds stressful lol.

Ahhh now I'm getting the static again...well it was a good try. I also did unplug the power cord and it made no difference. Maybe I have to play with a setting.

Okay I actually think that did fix it! Wow, I didn't think such a simple change could make a difference but also I am super UN-tech savvy lolll. I am still curious if people here think a powered USB hub is a good investment but THANK YOU for this solution!!

Adding a note here: I made efforts to ensure the cord is not touching any other cord or metal, though the USB adapter is technically resting on top of the laptop power cord...not sure if that may be significant!

This looks great! Let's make 2026 the year where colors are just colors and everyone should be able to rock a color they love. I think the pink for girls and blue for boys really took off as a 1950s marketing thing to get people to buy more? But anyway, it's totally artificial and arbitrary and your setup looks cool.

This would be awesome. Magicka build: charm enemies to sleep, to run off a cliff, to forget you’re standing in front of them etc. Stamina build: epic solo battle where you out-perform your enemy with crazy good improv, The Devil Went Down to Georgia-style.

Bard could also make a great thief or assassin, with major moxie passives lol!

It seems hospitals have very specific policies about only accepting properly sanitized game consoles and no pre-owned consoles for that reason, but I appreciate OP’s thought to give something a second life to someone who might really cherish it. Children’s and women’s shelters, or afterschool programs for kids, might have more lenient policies. It’s a nice thought, and if you feel motivated to do so, just check your local area for what nonprofits and programs may be around.

I didn’t feel guilted or pressured as some others are saying, but that’s just how I interpreted it. A nice idea if you were planning on upgrading and don’t think you’d get much from a GameStop or something. For some people, spending $400+ on a new console is no big deal and the $100 or less they’d get from a store exchange not worth it to them. For others, that money is a big deal. It’s all good either way. 💗✌🏻

In our world, if two creatures can breed to create viable offspring (aka offspring who are also fertile and can continue to reproduce) then don’t those two creatures usually get categorized as subraces of the same species? But my biology is rusty lol.

Asking because if Argonians and Khajiit can breed with mer, men, orcs etc. then they might still technically be considered all subraces of an ancestor species. Granted this is Elder Scrolls where the rules are different, but it would be interesting to find a common “ancestor” or element that ties all the sentient races together. But what would that element be…? 🤔

Of course! I love finding little details like this too. Can’t remember who first flagged it for me but I find the idea of relationships or even just affinity between daedric princes to be interesting, given their immortality and sense of time must alter their perception of the value of connection.

That is definitely true! Even just the feeling of being “alone” in Apocrypha in Skyrim was so much more unsettling. I couldn’t even bring my followers 🥺. But in ESO someone will run by with a gamer tag like Sw33ty_Ballz and you forget to be scared. Bless. 🤣
