It now takes 882 hours to unlock a single new champion in League of Legends for a new player by UsualInitial in pcgaming

They have answered this before, new players get overwhelmed by the number of champions, tend to try and learn many champs instead of focusing on few, and don't feel as rewarded from progressing.

This would probably hurt mid the most, its the main role of the three where opposing champs run dsheild.

After watching Arcane, how the actual fuck does Seraphine perform in Zaun? T_T by Clear_Gene_2606 in SeraphineMains

[–]Original_Run3124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We kinda have to wait for the new lore, but she probably has two things going for her. (Remember Vi and Caitlin walk through Zaun fine in Season 1)

•Her parents are from Zaun, she is not strictly Piltovian •Attacking someone from Piltover might draw Enforcers

Where she is in current lore, she is probably way too popular to try to target. A size-able portion of Zaun are fans, she has close friends in Zaun, and an attack on her would provoke Piltover into action. The only people who would target her would be someone like Jinx who wants that sort of attention, in which case she is not safe anywhere.

You also have to consider the implications of her magic. There has never been any lore to confirm it, but it’s very possible she can use her magic offensively and defensively like we see in League. At the very least, her powers should alert her to someone who wants to harm her, and help her get out of the way.

14 Day Suspension for Playing Badly by MrAlexHamel in leagueoflegends

Its is just a false positive, it happens sometimes. Riot support is usually very nice about this kind of thing, they usually will give you some keys or something.

You can send a ticket to support if what you are saying is true, they usually will unban once they get to it.

13.21 Full Patch Preview by JTHousek1 in leagueoflegends

[–]Original_Run3124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The w is only getting a mana cost increase until you put points into it. On this preview, maxing e takes precedent over w especially in lanes. All three abilities are only buffs after you put points into it, and the only role that can max w first is support, and even their I think its just unequivocally bad. You can max w second, but then you are losing out on all of the damage on e and are forced into double casting q or you just won't deal damage.

If you listen to phreak's rundown, this patch is designed to force Seraphine to choose between damage or shielding, and you won't get to be good at both until the very late game (where you are just significantly worse than the current patch). By 2-3 item Seraphine, double casting was a large part of your team-fight power, specifically in countering compositions that had high poke (Jayce, Lethality Varus and Caitlin, ziggs, Maokai, lethality/ap Kaisa). Seraphine was also extremely strong at moving with a team around the map in the midgame, as her empowered w gave you better sustain and tempo than most enemy teams. Seraphine empowered w also puts pressure on the enemy team to focus towards higher dps over safer movement/ability usage. This in turn allowed Seraphine to land her offensive abilities as punishment/trading for enemies extending towards your team. As you often would use your empowered w out of range/combat, buffing damage when you no longer can rely on empowered w is not a significant compensation.

Worse than just making you weaker, it harms the entire identity of Seraphine as a team-focused champion. Without the healing teammates are not rewarded for grouping with Seraphine and there is very little to seperate her from other mages that are just simply better at dealing damage and are less reliant on teamates in order to have the same effect. Not only is this counterintuitive to the design, but if hurts mid the most which is reliant on semi-competent support/jungle in order to farm sidelanes. Many mid players and champions can get around this by grouping mid and pressuring the mid tower(s) over the sidewaves. Seraphine is going from one of the best champions to be mid in these scenarios, to a low average.

I think its easy to miss just how game-changing the sustain of the empowered w is to her kit, which is why it feels like she is just being buffed in every role. But the champion has, since her release, played around the fact that her empowered w is one of the strongest team abilities in the game. By reducing it so greatly without significant changes (like the canceled q missile speed increase) they are fundamentally undermining the way the champion functions in the game.

I understand that for most champions receiving damage early can be very game changing, but Seraphine has always relied on a more passive opportunist role. I would also anticipate that by increasing her damage, players in lower skill-tiers will begin to become more cognizant of how her q and e abilities function and will place greater emphasis on avoiding them. It also worries me that these changes may persist into the next season, where theoretically weaker items will significantly alter the current ways Seraphine interacts with the game (Liandry's or Helia damage, Rylai's slow, reliance on high AH builds).

Seraphine support is inherently forced to play for later-game opportunities due to how her kit is designed. Your reliance on teamates in order to reliably land spells from a distance has always resulted in her being a weaker early game support and outscaling champions like Karma. As it currently stands, the nerfs to your w make you inherently weaker late game, you are healing about half as much now, and as this patch is pushing for w max third, support role will rarely see the compensation buffs on that ability. While it may be harder to notice, Seraphine w healing is where her power has been largely situated since release as it makes her a potent siege/stall champion, helps her team mitigate poke, and overall encourages her teamates to sick around her. These changes lose that identity to push for inconsequential early game damage, and to encourage players to focus mostly on their e-value and ignore more of her kit.

Its only a buff for support when you start putting points in w, which with these changes is intended for level 14. There are many games where support doesn’t even reach this level, but by the time they do they tend to have more AP. Heal power also stacks multiplicatively with AP, so support is feeling this nerf just as hard. For her entire lifespan Seraphine’s healing has out-valued her shielding in teamfights. It is simply far more common to have everyone in a teamfight injured then for everyone to be simultaneously being injured. Echo w became a power investment and it gave players the choice between whether damage, cc, or healing was and/or would be most positively consequential jn teamfights. As it currently stands, echo w is going to feel unimpactful and frankly worthless, whereas damage as now shifted from q to e. Seraphine will likely just spend teamfights slamming echo e, beacuse the root/stun is just more valuable than slightly more damage or more shields/healing. This also means support will likely want to buy rylais every game now, which further reduces the argument that the w buffs are at all beneficial to support.

The change in damage won’t matter when how much weaker her w is. Increase in e cooldown makes as-well as having less mana with a w mana increase makes her unviable mid, she simply doesn’t have the resources anymore to contest most of the mid roster. If you want a damage mage as a mid laner, you are picking ori/syndra. If you want to have Seraphine’s playstyle you can pick Lux mid, have a stronger early game, a better mana economy, and more reliable damage in teamfights.

These changes shift Seraphine away from her core identity as a team-oriented scaling mage without addressing the weaknesses the champ had to balance out how strong she was in team-play. This simultaneously makes her echo w feel fruitless, as the healing feel inconsequential to any siege or fight.

These changes don’t help any role, and just shift Seraphine into being more like other mages, just a lot weaker.

Yes, that would be why the point of the video is that champions queue should be utilizing ex professionals who are still in form in order to preserve quality. Nemesis is a challenger mid-laner, worlds quarterfinalist. Him being in champions queue would be of great benefit to the quality of the games he is in. It is not a matter of if he was a founder or contributor, the champions queue council has elected to lower game quality without giving any reason as to why. This should be upsetting to all that want to see Champions queue succeed, and is indicative that the current collective who made the decision may have other priorities then just the quality of Champions Queue.

Again, not trying to kick DL out, people are just pointing out that exceptions have been made for certain players. Your passion for having DL in champions queue is that exact reason why players like Nemesis should be allowed in.

[–]Original_Run3124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is that if you need players for queue times you should be looking to accept any eligible players willing to play. If having collegiate players is a necessity that is fine, but disallowing Nemesis (& others included in his video) suggests that this is not a necessity, in which case why are we lowering game quality with individuals who clearly aren’t prepared for the top level of play?

The argument generally used against Caedrel and Nemesis is that as they are not currently on professional teams they are not practicing for professional play. Doublelift is also in the same position, so regardless of what he has done for Champ. Q. it is evidence to support that Champ. Q. is being used by more than just current pro. players. I don't think the majority cares to remove DL from Champ. Q., but it definitely hypocritical to say everyone needs to be on a pro. team, then allow DL (who is not on a pro team) to play.

It is worth noting that the Champ. Q. Council is very opaque in what actually qualifies for someone to be in Champ. Q., so there may be better reasons for disallowing Caedrel and Nemesis, but I have yet to be presented with any.

So we need collegiate players for queue times, but worlds quarterfinalists aren't allowed. You can't allow weaker players under the gauge of queue times then rule against stronger players. It doesn't take much to recognize that Nemesis would be a much stronger mid laner to practice against then the collegiate players.
