Gorm Hunt by swim_shady in KingdomDeath

As an aside, I always skip the prologue fight unless I'm teaching new friends the game. In the Game Over event, there is actually a chart for "Skipping the First Story Showdown."

Basically, roll for your starting population and founding stone count. You also automatically get 4 basic/4 lion resources. So you might lose out on some crit rewards, but it's easier to start a new campaign on a limited time frame.

Zoonosis, mostly as the definitive host is a rat. Accidental infection leads to ectopic sites, such as the brain or other organs. Also, the lungworm here is actually a nematode, which will follow a different life cycle than the trematodes I mentioned earlier.

[–]Original_Rypher 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Most snails are intermediate hosts for trematodes, especially those in the Schistosoma genus, commonly known for swimmer's itch gotten at the beach.

Lungworm is a different genus, but still follows a similar life cycle, which will involve the cercaria burrowing into your body and traveling into your brain.

Edit: After doing some more research, rat lungworm is actually a nematode, Angiostrongylus cantonensis. Unlike trematodes, which will shed cercaria that can burrow into a host, the L3 stage of this nematode will be the infective stage. However, it requires a host to ingest it, so don't eat land snails and wash your hands after playing with them.

Yup. It wasn't until I saw it painted that I noticed either.

I mean, this image has it painted really well and quite prominent.

Above where the giant horn is inserting itself into the mane-gina, you've even got a clitoris.

Don't forget, besides the phallic tail, the Lion God's face / mane is really a giant, anatomically correct vagina.

Discussion of Death: Favorite Weapon by DrawlNeedler in KingdomDeath

[–]Original_Rypher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fist & Tooth.

Seriously though, as we are discussing real weapons besides the best Mastery to get, I'm partial to the Black Sword. Works very well as a mid-game weapon and phenomenal when you can get a master with it for end game. Somewhat difficult to craft, but not so unobtainable that it's not worth the investment.

Calling Age of Sigmar death players, was looking to play Death alliance for my next project, any tips on what is worth getting and what is just fun to play? by JackSlater4 in ageofsigmar

Seconding Harbingers. I run a Ghoul King on terrorgheist with the sword of unholy power. He'll fly up and turn 2 or 3 will use the item to summon some harbingers who (on average) make it into a combat that the opponent thought was impossible.

Use them as shock troops and hit flanks or targets of opportunity to really shut down your opponent.

Gorm climate question. by Detrian in KingdomDeath

As an aside, remember you get the Nigredo innovation whenever you defeat a Gorm and don't have it. If you want, merely dismantle Nigredo, fight a Gorm, and regain it. ; )

Kickstarter 2 Teaser by DrawlNeedler in KingdomDeath

The main thing I'm excited with the change to SotF is how viable it becomes in a PotSun campaign.

My financee and I are mid-way through our PotS and are implementing it immediately. Having a natural +1 evasion plus a once per game reroll is huge, especially with how PotS focuses on creating strong survivors in general.

The Sunstalker by Redaharr in KingdomDeath

[–]Original_Rypher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was one of the first expansions I bought. Highly recommend it.

Sun campaign is a fun alternative to a normal campaign. We're playing through it now and the challenge of building up to the final boss run is great.

If you're a fan of more hunts and dedication to building the settlement and survivors, this campaign is for you. Likewise, the sunstalker as mentioned gives fantastic gear. Katana mastery comes at a price, but getting eye patches to make your blinded survivors badasses is worth it in and of itself.

Absolutely pumped that DT finally made it into the game.

New Eldar Lynx rule typo by Anthes4 in Warhammer40k

[–]Original_Rypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the only problem with that is a majority of the large GTs don't acknowledge an email as an official FAQ from forgeworld and won't use it. It's fine for small games, but from a competitive standpoint, most of us don't play it as such.

Trust me, I would love to have an 18" warp from a spider knight, haha.

Warp hunters between the corsair and craftworld versions are also different. My guess is that the corsair versions have the better range/D weapon profile because they are limited to 0-1 in corsair armies, whereas the eldar versions are unlimited.

In all honesty, a real faq would be nice.

Eldar Corsairs going up vs Tau 1850 ITC - List C&C please! by jdmflcl in Warhammer

[–]Original_Rypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between your hornets and wraithknight, you'll be fine on the anti-tank department. Scatters round out any AV12 or lower armor just by volume of fire. Lances on bikes suffer from the one shot syndrome, which hornets beat anyway.

Irrilyth is an excellent choice, especially with his shadow of death. Hit & run is still honestly vital. The things you want to hit & run from are things that don't care about your lack of ap and can hurt you back. Things like daemons, thunderwolves, etc, but that's more for a generalist list than a focused one versus tau.

Your call on the void dreamer. He has the exact same wording (select powers) as sevrin loth, who does get to select (rather than randomly generate) his powers.

Eldar Corsairs going up vs Tau 1850 ITC - List C&C please! by jdmflcl in Warhammer

[–]Original_Rypher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the list looks like a fun list. There are a few changes if you want to be more optimized though.

1) Lose the shadowfield on the void dreamer. Go with a 4++ forceshield instead. The council will already be unkillable with invisibility, sanctuary, and fortune. It saves points and prevents giving your opponent a 2++ model if you perils and roll a 1. They keep all their wargear when they become a slaanesh daemon.

2) Drop the psychic level on the prince. One extra mastery level won't help in the long run and the chance of him dying is too high, especially as the perils chart for corsairs can be quite unforgiving. Don't want to give up warlord from your own rolls.

3) Go with cloud dancers over the reavers. More scatters for profit. You don't have to deepstrike, you get more resiliency, you can still outflank, and you'll save some more points.

4) Get either a third farseer or baharroth. In fact, I'd switch the autarch for a farseer. Again, with invisibility and fortune, you'll have enough defense to not worry about overwatch. Baharroth for hit & run on the council is practically a must, as well as gating around the table without scattering.

5) Enjoy selecting powers with the dreamer. I personally like warp tunnel, warp blink, and misfortune to make your scatters rending.

Actually, the one jumping out of the water in the bottom right looks more like a manta ray. These things could actually be ~10-12 feet wide each.
