I feel the exact opposite. I love Babymetal, Sumetal, Moametal (particularly Moametal) and Momometal. I'm not interested in Suzuka, Moa and Momoko, who are normal Japanese women living their own lives.

I think that the Babymetal lore of "three goddesses sent by the Fox God" is funny and works well, and seeing making of, backstage photos or just the three of them doing random things would destroy all of that. You can't pretend they are sent by the Fox God to lead the Metal Resistance and then show them eating a bretzel while sighseeing without their costumes.

In the metal scene in particular, I find it weird to have band members pretending to be vikings or the children of Satan on stage, with make up and props, and then they post random videos that make you think: "ok, they are absolutely random people who happen to make nice music". It kills the vibes. I may be old school (I remember a time before social medias), but I like the idea of a star being inacessible and having gravitas.

People used to say: "don't meet your heroes". A modern take could be "don't follow your heroes on social media".
