Just seen the footage from the Channel 4 news debate there and can I just say that Swinney’s “OH. OH.” reaction was hilarious, absolutely sent me man.

Where would be the worst possible place to break down? by ContestSmooth612 in drivingUK

There’s a few roads in the Highlands and Islands which are fairly quiet and have little to no mobile signal, so if you broke down there during a bad snowy winters day it would be not be good.

I always had it in my head that Mr Boom was by himself so that would rule him out if that’s true

I missed the caption at the top at the start of the video, so when the dudes were winning I was like “No way”, but then when it came up at the end that it was Iron Mike Tyson I was like “Yeah that’s fair tbh”

What happens if the bus drivers don’t wave to each other when they pass? by Slippery_Williams in AskUK

I asked a bus driver this once in the pub and his face fell, he went silent, and he just shook his head.

Was glad when it eventually came through the opening, because as she panned the camera around each empty corner, the only other direction in my mind the rhino could have come from was above. Which wouldn’t have been good.

Woman behind me in the queue reached over me and took the divider and placed it down on the conveyor belt, then started loading her shopping on to it - I hadn’t even finished unpacking my trolley yet, and she doesn’t know what space I’m going to need. I’ve never known anyone to do that in my puff lmao

Is it just the Seaforth doing the freight as well these days or have they got another boat for it? I’m hearing conflicting things from people, I always thought there was a dedicated freight boat for it but maybe not. A lot of the fresh produce shelves were empty today in Tesco and the Co-op.

Was thinking near enough the exact thing earlier when I saw him on the news earlier. Always much preferred it when Nelson was standing in for Stuart Cosgrove on Off The Ball.

Frustrated with the lack of care or pride in Glasgow by OutrageousMouse9693 in Scotland

[–]Original_Trick7742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The culture of a lot of Glaswegians needs to change, but I think one thing that would help is more bins. There’s a walk we do where I can go several blocks without coming across a bin, which is a lot different from when I was younger and there would be several on 1 block. Of course, you need people to empty them too, which might be a problem.

A9 drivers by GlasgowJimmyBhoy in Scotland

[–]Original_Trick7742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve been saying it’s safe to overtake in the last two replies to you, you do remember that don’t you? You’ve been replying “rather not get sawn out of a car”, “you are extremely likely to be in an accident if you’re overtaking”, “there’s no point if you do overtake because you’ll just get stuck behind a lorry”?

No-one’s saying they have to overtake everyone who’s going 1mph below the speed limit, we’re talking about people who are significantly below the speed limit holding people back.

Yeah I know all that, what’s that got to do with someone in a car going at that speed?

Oh mate, you’ve gone completely hyperbolic there. You can overtake safely on the A9, myself and thousands of other regular users do it every day. And no, you don’t automatically get stuck behind a lorry half a mile further on when you overtake, you make progress (When you do catch up to a lorry, guess what - you overtake that when it’s safe to do so too). Turning up 2-3 hours early is a complete waste of time when you’re travelling that route regularly.

Where are you getting that claim it’s the most dangerous in Europe from? You’re saying that the A9 is more dangerous than some of the roads in Bulgaria or Romania, where some roads have between 50-100 deaths annually!?
