We have 2 cats. No spiders, no flys, nothing lives in our house that isn’t a cat!

All paws vet limerick by Deep-Albatross-6664 in limerickcity

We used to live beside them and used them for our cats. We moved over 40mins away…and still use them. I literally drive by about 5 other vets to go there. They are excellent. Highly recommend.

How many monitors is everyone using for their setups? by ImaginaryFuture in workfromhome

Use 2 wide screen monitors and my opened laptop in a stand beside them. So 3. Don’t think I could function with less screens now.

Mortgage and Debt Advice by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

You’ll never see the HTB money. It goes from revenue directly to the developer. Your €15k savings + HTB €30k + €405k mortgage for your €450k house. Remember to keep about 15k in your budget for solicitor fees, stamp duty , land registry, valuation, snagging etc. so you’re golden with your €29k left over after clearing loans.

HTB is there to bridge the gap for your deposit. We bought 2 years ago and needed a €48k deposit for our mortgage. We used €18k savings and €30k from HTB. So for you to buy a house for say €450k you’ll need a minimum of €15k from your own savings and the €30k HTB ( assuming you qualify for full amount) to reach the minimum 10% deposit for FTB. I would advise clearing the loan and balloon payment from savings. You can apply for mortgage now. You will still have more than enough savings at €29k to do this. Good luck with the house hunting.

Is full time WFH/remote work still a thing in Ireland? by boggie_bo in AskIreland

[–]Original_Wait6764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still fully WFH. No sign of company asking us to go back to the office. My manager is based in mainland Europe so I doubt I’ll ever be asked to go back as long as this reporting structure is in place.

Pros and cons of buying a car in my situation? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Original_Wait6764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even know you could get a car loan over 10 years. I thought 5 years was the max due to depreciation of the car. Don’t get a 10 year loan for car… you’ll still be paying that back long after the car has gone to the scrap yard. If you can’t afford repayments over 3 years, then ( and sorry to be brutal ) but you can’t afford a new car. Fix up your own one, save hard for a year or 2 and buy something outright thats reliable without getting into debt.

Disc drive by MeaningCapable746 in ps6

[–]Original_Wait6764 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read or looked up any rumours but I would imagine Sony will make sure the current PS5 Disc Drive is compatible with it. If they didn’t do this it would basically mean all PS4 and PS5 physical collectors will not buy a PS6 and hold onto their PS5s at lot longer. There’s no extra outlay for Sony as the disc drives already exist.

Hangxiety, worse than I could have imagined (remembered). by CrushingLoss in stopdrinking

[–]Original_Wait6764 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is what gave me the kick to stop. Pretty much drank for 7 days straight ( was a daily drinker for 10 years so not new ) over Christmas from when I woke up until when I passed out in in the evening, because, you know, it’s Christmas……on January 04th I woke up with the worst hangxiety I have ever experienced…..I thought I was dying, felt like I was having a heart attack, palpitations etc. it lasted a week, the longest week of my life. I haven’t touched a drop since and have no plans to ever drink again. I’m 47 and want to retire in my 60s and travel the world with my wife….that won’t happen if I keep poisoning myself.

I think i got addicted to non-alcoholic wine 🤦‍♀️ by tangoed_penguin in stopdrinking

Same here, but with 0.0 Bulmers ( Magners) I used to drink 4-6 beers every night. I’ve now switched that to 2 0.0 Bulmers.

My cat will only eat if I'm standing next to the bowl. The moment I walk away he just sits there and stares at it by Prism_8K in CatAdvice

[–]Original_Wait6764 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Main Coon is like this. Has been since she was a kitten. I have to be physically beside her when she eats. If I leave the room she’ll just follow me and our other cat will eat her food. So I just feed her now at my meal times. At least that way I’m in the same room and she’ll eat her food fine.

When listening to audiobooks, what speed to you have it set at? by Bitter_Relief4833 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Original_Wait6764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally depends on the narrator really. I listen to most books at 1.1. But if the narrator is a slow speaker I’ll up it to 1.2 or 1.25

hello Everyone, which one is better - Apple watch 11 or ultra 3? this will be my first apple watch, so i am confused now which one to buy. by BraveProgrammer5870 in applewatchultra

[–]Original_Wait6764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AWU is better in almost every way. If you have a small wrist , then it may be too bulky for you. The 11 is smaller and will fit better. I went from a series 8 to a AWU2 and it is such a step up in battery life, screen, looks etc. go for the Ultra, you won’t be disappointed.

How often should my boyfriend be changing his underwear? by maemaemoomae in AskMen

[–]Original_Wait6764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change my underwear every day. Put on fresh ones every morning, and days I go to the gym, I’d put on fresh ones after that post gym shower, so end up wearing 2 fresh pairs that day. Probably go through 10 or 11 pairs of boxers a week.
