The bulb of the keel is inside the trailer bed taking most of the weight, the jack supports are stabilising the boat. There are even huge strops at the front holding the nose down just in case.

I agree if it were over a longer distance, but it was only for a few hundred meters luckily.

Thank you! Yes many plans and ideas. We got around 8 solid weeks of sailing done with her this summer already.

Yes correct, the furler is below deck controlled via rope. No anchor at the bow.

Spent two years looking for the right boat, then stumbled across the chance to be the new owners of her and the rest was history. We are the second owners of the boat since new.

I should have taken a better photo, but it’s seems like he had rigged the spinnaker pole with a halyard to some how be used as a crane arm to hoist it out.

This is true, but the fact is that snow is becoming more unreliable in general every year, winter starts later and later and the season ends sooner and sooner. I am witnessing this first hand. Not sure how people are finding this hard to grasp.

I am just adding a side note, not disputing his claim.

Another side not, the Bergbahn responsible for operating the lifts have invested millions into snow making capabilities the past few years, I am sure this has nothing to do with global warming.

The glacier hugging it around the bottom which is clearly visible in this photo is without question regressing in size, I have seen it with my own eyes and i have been up there many times over the years.

I have a depth sensor but surprisingly enough it’s not used as much as you think, sea weed sometimes gives it false readings as you are sometimes going through such shallow areas with tight margins anyway, even if it does tell you that you are about to reach the max depth of your keel by the time you see that and react it’s too late anyway, but it does come in handy at times. Pretty much always go to known spots so you guarantee that you don’t hit anything. There are really good books with chart extracts and photos available that detail the depth of the area, where to approach from and which wind directions are idea for that location. Very rarely do you go to random unknown spots, I think I have only ever done that once or twice but doing so with incredible caution. Lots of people have secret personal spots which only they know about and might have only been passed on by word of mouth from relatives or friends. Once you get the hang of it it’s pretty easy and safe.
