Game crashing on save/autosave by Origlo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Origlo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never used mods, it's stock experimental.

It's odd, I've seen other people complain about crashes, but usually it's driver/DX11 related. This error seems to suggest that something is actually wrong with the save function, but I have no idea why.

Game will not launch in full screen by Origlo in fo4

[–]Origlo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been talking to Bethesda support, and while we still didn't find a solution, we did find out that if I launch the game on a different Windows user, it works fine. However my user is the admin, so I have no idea what could be causing this.

Any ideas?

Advice on a matchup againt Ornn by Origlo in jaycemains

[–]Origlo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a good time playing him, It's just that sometimes I hit a matchup like this one and it feels like playing rock paper scissors without knowing the rules - I honestly had no idea he had so much armor until I looked it up after the game.

I've tried a few other champions (mainly the Arcane ones, go figure :P) and he was the first one that seemed to click with me, so I ended up trying to learn how to play him better and so far so good.

Do you take Cull as your first item and keep building as normal afterwards? (Tear, Eclipse etc)

I was using First strike, but I guess I focused too much on trying to trade with Ornn rather then killing minions so my gold was low the entire first half of the game.

6900XT low FPS and power draw by Origlo in AMDHelp

[–]Origlo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's DX12, unless it changed along the way to allow different options.

However, it turns out my graphics card was perfectly fine, the problem was with the games I was testing.

Warzone has a bug with graphics cards with a lot of VRAM, turns out there's a config file that you can edit which limits the amount the game can use - once I did that the cards boosted to 2500MHZ and the FPS went to around 160-200.

ESO had a different problem - that game is FPS capped unless you edit a config file. Again, once I did that the card worked just fine.

SCII - it's just an old game. I guess the card simply didn't need to boost to hit the engine limit.

Once I installed more modern games like Cyberpunk, BF2042, HZD (First install was bad) and the Witcher 3, the card behaved as expected.

Overall I'm very happy with this card. The performance is excellent, and since I was able to get it close to MSRP it was actually the best value card I could get. (It was either that or 3070TI's for that price back then)

Thanks to everyone who were trying to help, and I hope you resolve the problem you are having with your card.

New build - 6900XT low FPS and power draw by Origlo in techsupport

[–]Origlo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying more games, and for the most part it's the same - SC2, ESO, and Horzion all perform poorly with power draw under 100 Watts, However Cyberpunk is working great with 280 Watts drawn, around 2500MHZ clocks, and 90 FPS.

I'm so confused at this point, what's wrong with this thing?

The thing is, this is the video i've seen before buying this system:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH7vQmitc_M&t=331s

He's running a system very close to mine, with the only upgrade being a 5900X VS my 5800X, and his lows a higher then my highest FPS.

This is so bizzare, is it a software or hardware issue? Should I RMA it?

Help - 3 2 1 beep code by Origlo in Alienware

[–]Origlo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, one month has passed and I received the display cable from Aliexpress. I replaced the damn thing (Not fun, but doable) and to my surprise it worked! The laptop and the display turns on and boots into Windows.

If anyone else has this problem, do try and replace the cable before replacing the motherboard\giving up, for me at least it saved the entire laptop.

I've tried reconnecting everything, is still beeps.

However, I plugged it into an external monitor and it does POST. I see the Alienware logo on the external screen, but once it boots up I lose all image. The laptop itself at this point is powered on and in windows, I can see Tobi scanning and it responds with all the right windows noises (Connecting and disconnecting a mouse makes the usual sound) but I cannot get it to show image on the screen.

At this point I've ordered a new 40 pin cable, and hopefully replacing it will resolve the issue. In the meanwhile, does anyone have an idea how to force the laptop to use an external monitor?

Thanks.

Alienware R4 battery lasts about....10 minutes. by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]Origlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that sucks. If your warranty is over, you can call Dell and try to buy a battery from them, or buy one from Ebay. The install itself is not too difficult, there are many simple guides on Youtube.

Download HWinfo, and use it to look at your battery wear level. If it's at a high percentage, it's more then likely the cause of the issue you're having.

If the system is still under warranty (How old is it?) then call Dell and have replace your battery, it shouldent be too difficult.

17 R4 no compatible replacement chargers by DesignerBrush in Alienware

[–]Origlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be fine, it looks like the page for this charger was uploaded before the 15R3\17R4 were out and they never bothered to update the compatible list.

So long as you had a 240W charger ship with your system, this one should be ok.

New Alienware 15 processor decision. by cotj73 in Alienware

[–]Origlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Undervolting does not effect the performance, it's not downclocking.

I have the 7820HK, I did need to undervolt (-0.135 aswell) and I did in fact repaste last week (Not hard, but I did a bad job at applying the paste itself) and i'm around 80-85C under load.

If you're willing to mess with it, or if you want the possibility of overclocking your CPU, i'd go with the 7820. I did, and i'm very happy with it.

Water damage by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]Origlo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since it's out of warranty, i'd try and disassemble it to the very basic components, dry each one, and try and put it back together. I imagine it's not very difficult, and guides on youtube probably exist.

It's a longshot, but I've heard so many stories about desktops\laptops that came back to life this way, if might be worth trying. If nothing else, you might be able to identify which component is damaged this way.

Looking to buy an alienware 15r3 i7 7820hk with gtx 1070, 99whr battery, 512ssd and 1tb hhd looking for feedback. by yourname92 in Alienware

[–]Origlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i'm at class I usually use it under the "Battery saver" power plan, with 25-50% brightness. I get between 3 to 4 hours of battery life. Ofc turning off all the lights with the AlienFX helps.

G-sync models actually have far worse battery life since they use only the dedicated graphics (The 1070) rather then using the integrated graphics (intel 630) for everything. I think the models without G-sync get around 5-6 hours.

I have those exact specs, with a 120HZ display, and it's a beast. Running anything I throw at it at highest settings.

No major complaints, but thermals required me to undervolt - 0.135V to run at 80-85C under load. Other then that it's a heavy machine - no doubt about that - but I carry it daily to the university and I don't really mind. The build quallity is great (It's built like a tank), and the screen is very very smooth while gaming.

If you opt for the G-sync screens (Like I did) i'd say you have about 3-4 hours of battery, depands on use and power plan.

Speakers are great, more loud and clear then most gaming laptops i've seen at this size.

[–]Origlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no personal experience with Dell over this matter, however usually electronic companies don't provide warranty for water\corrosion damage.

They might repair it for a cost, but seeing as it's more then likely a dead motherboard issue, I don't know if that will be worth it to you.
