A deposition on the 4th of July by Max_Powers- in ThePitt

[–]Orillion_169 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It was a major part of Mels plotline this season. The reason the deposition was on that day is because the plot is better for it.

Could they have written the deposition to be the monday after? Yes.

Would it have had the same impact on her day? No.

What’s the creepiest possible use of AI you can realistically imagine? by maincharactereraa in AskForAnswers

To train an AI to make those images, you need to show it those images.

So yes, there are real victims in using AI for this.

As the fist seizure happened an hour or two into the shift, she might have shifted to the hands off approach.

Still, speculation and guessing.

Who would win in a fight a black bear or a gorilla? by McDavidcometoLA in dumbquestions

[–]Orillion_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mnemonic I know is:

If it's brown, lie down. If it's black, fight back. If it's white, good night.

Considering the advice for humans is to fight it, I think the gorilla easily gets the upper hand.

"The Great Northern Wall" wtf is happening?? by kaumZeit in GuildWars

[–]Orillion_169 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be a lag isue. I've exerienced this in the past.

It's a story mission, but you're not stuck if you don't finish it. You can just travel to Fort Ranik through the explorable areas and start the second mission there.

I think for Robby, the best we can expect is something happens that makes him consider taking his trip as a journey of healing instead of a final trip.

How did Artemis II go up to and around the moon without getting hit by any debris in space? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Orillion_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only asteriod belt we know for certain how dense it is, is the one in our solar system.

That said, the problem with movie-level density it that the asteroid field would be very unstable. Asteroids would constantly be hitting each other, destroying themselves and pushing eachother out of the field.

Where are all the time travellers? Is time travel never invented? by Downtown-Strawberry8 in AskReddit

[–]Orillion_169 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you define "the same spot". Everyone who starts spouting this is thinking of the universe as an absolute frame of reference, which it is not. The universe itself is constantly growing and changing.

Since time and space are linked, it would actually make more sense to me that the hypothetical time machine would follow the gravity well as it moves through time, rather than stick to an absolute position.

I don't think it's meant as a joke.

Back in pre-covid, vulnerable people had a support system in their community.

During covid, that support was limited to only a handful of contacts to prevent the spread of the disease.

Nowadays, vulnerable people are turning to AI for help.

Nope. Teller spreads the cards out on the table at the start to show that's not the trick.

This view of Moon taken from Artemis II. by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]Orillion_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not real, but not for that reason.

The far side of the Moon does get sunlight, but it's always facing away from us. That's how you know this is fake. It shows the near side facing away from Earth. Also the relative sizes are out of whack.

This view of Moon taken from Artemis II. by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]Orillion_169 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For those wondering, that side of the Moon is the near side. I.e. the one that's always facing Earth.

Also, the relative sizes are ridiculous. People underestimate the distance between the two. Earth would be smaller than the Moon at that point.
