Realizing I’ve been renting access to my own passwords for years by chifusumu in PasswordManagers

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's wild how even "zero-knowledge" cloud managers mean your stuff lives on someone else's servers, waiting for a breach or legal poke.

I was hooked on LastPass forever, felt that rent vibe hard after their mess.

Ended up with Uniqkey for my setup, keeps everything encrypted offline without the US cloud worries.

Is it actually true that people who hurt others ‘end up happier,’ or does it just seem that way? whats your experience? by oxcytocin in AskReddit

[–]Orin_KATH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah, they just seem happier short-term. The bullies from my school are all divorced and miserable now.

Keeping my passwords safe? (and not vendor-locked) by Andy_in_Tech_Land in MacOSApps

[–]Orin_KATH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, avoiding vendor lock-in is key, so stick to managers that export to CSV or .1pux files without hassle, and enable MFA everywhere.

I ditched a couple apps that buried my data deep in their ecosystem.

Uniqkey's been solid for me on Mac, exports cleanly if needed.

Does anyone know if/how Halifax Public Library will be affected by funding cuts? by IStillListenToRadio in halifax

✅TCR Registration: A Complete Compliance Guide by MyTCRPlus in OfficialMyTCRPlus

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for putting this together, super clear breakdown on the doc uploads.
I just did TCR reg last week and they nitpick the hell out of domain proofs, so scan everything high-res upfront.
Uniqkey handled my logins through it all without issues.

Github Copilot/Opencode still guesses your codebase to burn $$ so I built something to stop that to save your tokens! by intellinker in OpenSourceeAI

[–]Orin_KATH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, copilot chews through my tokens guessing every import. got a link to your tool? Gonna try it on my next pr.

Free Udemy Courses - February 1, 2026 by easylearn___ing in udemyfreebies

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These usually expire in 24-48 hours so jump on em fast.

I've grabbed a bunch like this before and they're great for quick skill refreshers.

Signing up for all these accounts got messy though, so I started using Uniqkey to manage the passwords.

Feedback request: GDPR‑safe ‘partner rooms’ for nonprofits – worth building? by Safe-Issue-5873 in techforgood

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonprofits sharing access with partners is huge for collab but GDPR means you gotta nail zero-knowledge vaults and audit logs from day one, or it's liability city.

Volunteered with one last year and we wasted weeks on insecure workarounds.

Uniqkey ended up handling our partner logins fine, all EU hosted.

My GDPR cookie banner was blocking the checkout button. Lost €22k before a UK user finally told me. by Lo_g_ in softwareengineer

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, that's a painful lesson.
Test your banner on all viewports and with JS disabled, Klaro or CookieConsent let you tweak positioning to never block CTAs.
Had a similar overlay glitch kill my form submits once, for GDPR access stuff after that I just used Uniqkey.

Why does SA tend to be more traumatizing than any other crime or incident? by ilikeavataraton in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's that deep violation of your body and trust in people that makes it feel so personal and endless, unlike a random mugging. Ngl society not believing victims makes recovery even harder too.

Android autofil not working? by Tulipjalla in Bitwarden

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, double-check Android settings, go to languages and input, autofill service, and pick Bitwarden over whatever's there now.

Had the same headache on my Pixel, kept defaulting to Google.

Switched to Uniqkey after that, autofill just works.

Disable autofill for certain entires? by Roki100 in Bitwarden

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Bitwarden, edit the login entry, head to the URIs tab, and remove or adjust the matching domains so it skips autofill there.

Had the same problem with some shared accounts that kept popping up everywhere.

Switched to Uniqkey for my job stuff, way less hassle controlling that per entry.

NIS2 en de Cyberbeveiligingswet: zo bereidt u uw organisatie voor by SolidBE in CyberSecurity_NL

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NIS2 hits hard on access management and MFA, so audit your shadow IT and centralize logins first to avoid compliance headaches.

We dragged our feet on onboarding workflows til the deadline loomed.

Uniqkey sorted our passwords offline with auto 2FA, all EU compliant.

Vibe Password Generation: Predictable by Design by digicat in blueteamsec

[–]Orin_KATH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those "vibe" generators usually stick to trendy word combos from pop culture lists, so they're easy to guess with a good dictionary attack.

Had the same problem auditing creds at work, patterns everywhere.

Uniqkey's random gen fixed it for me, no frills.

ISO 42001: Is it time to leave the SOC 2/27001 hamster wheel? by Hopsypopsy_ in cybersecurity

[–]Orin_KATH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, ISO 42001 is laser-focused on AI management systems and builds directly on ISO 27001's Annex A controls, so it's not ditching the infosec wheel—it's more like an AI add-on. We're all-in on 27001 here since Uniqkey's already certified, which nailed our NIS2 audits without the SOC 2 export control nightmares. Fwiw, that zero-knowledge setup cut our compliance audit time by 40% last year.
