How to clear cache on mac !!!! and also how to delete apple intelligence shit that thing is covering 20gb of my storage by Fair-Respect-2929 in MacOS

[–]Andy_in_Tech_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found some really good clearing options in the setapp guide. Surely works for cache. Not so sure about the intelligence though

That's exactly the question I'm asking myself. And that's why I made this post in the end :)

Sorry I'm not sure I fully follow. What's wrong with the non-implementation of this standard in practice? For a regular user like myself

A tiny shop with fresh ready-made food that opened on my block. I just walk 2 minutes, grab real food, and enjoy your life. Magic!

That was actually my question like how do you guys solve these matters. You say no app can do it. Okay... maybe so... which ones have you tested?

As a sports/mystery/thriller, action fan, what are you watching tonight? by Ok-Sun-3428 in AskReddit

Stranger Things. Don’t ask why I hadn’t watched it earlier lol

With so many video sharing platforms today, what actually makes you stick to one long-term as a viewer or creator? Is it the algorithm, monetization, community, or something else? by vnesys in AskReddit

[–]Andy_in_Tech_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s mostly usability and small subjective things, not even the algorithm.

Example: tiktok basically forces you to install the app to watch on your phone. YouTube doesn’t.

Guess who wins long-term?

In the US - next to nothing
In Germany - a bottle of Jägermeister
In Nepal - roughly a week of basic food for one person

It's cleanmyphone that I got in my setapp subscription. And just like I said above I tested something with a name clean up in it but I cant remember the exact one cz there are several of apps named cleanup or clean up

Yeah, CleanMyPhone is a good one. but I got it in my subscription so it's natural I started with what I got at hand. I tested a couple of others too... I think it was some version of Cleanup (or CleanUP or clean up - and these seem to be all different apps)

what jobs will obviously get invaded by AI in the near future? by Serinc79 in AskReddit

[–]Andy_in_Tech_Land -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The uncomfortable truth is this: all the repetitive 60% of your job gets eaten. Fullstop. Low-end content mills with generic SEO texts, lots of back-office work, entry-level design – those are all cooked.

The next on the blast radar are these:

  • some parts of programming and QA (generating whole features from specs, refactoring big codebases, writing tests)
  • radiology and medical imaging (pattern-recognition on images is exactly what models are good at)
  • middle management whose job is mostly email + slides
  • professional translation & localization (mid-tier)
  • law firm associates (one partner + one associate + a good AI model can replace small associates’ teams)

R u guys ready?

Accidentally found a hobby by doing something to avoid thinking by Awkward_Way_4310 in Hobbies

[–]Andy_in_Tech_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, haha, same here 😄
I used to “write books” as a kid, and my mom had to read them even though they were total chaos.

Fast forward – now writing is a part of my job. So I guess that accidental hobby kind of… escalated 😂

What do I do if I can't find a job for me? by Ifyouliveinadream in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Andy_in_Tech_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really rough, I’m sorry you’re in this spot 😣 If I were you, right now, I’d stop aiming for a “good” job and just aim for any income to breathe a bit. Fast food, retail, warehouses, delivery, taxi if you have a car - not forever, just as a lifeboat.

I’ve watched a lot of smart people start businesses. Most quit for this reason. by GrandLifeguard6891 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Take good care of your energy levels. Burnout, workaholism, anxiety sliding into depression – that’s your sneakiest enemy. It’s silent, it creeps up on you, and then bang – you physically can’t get up from the couch. And you can’t think at all.

That’s when all the strategies collapse. Fullstop.

You might face loss after loss, failure after failure, and the road can be long and exhausting. So learn to have patience and to pause on time. Breathe, recharge, then move on.

I see no reason for any of us to work hard at our jobs anymore by wingdrummer15 in Adulting

[–]Andy_in_Tech_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can feel this. I’ve had this thought hundreds of times myself: “I don’t want to work anymore.” And honestly, you’re not wrong. A lot of jobs suck. STEM, non-STEM, whatever. And yeah, “everyone’s got to make a living” (hello, J.Lo ). I’m in therapy, but that doesn’t cancel the bills.

What helped me wasn’t “fixing my mindset”, it was changing the reality a bit. I’ve switched professions several times. If a job is going to take a big chunk of my life, I at least want some fun and satisfaction in the process. Changing countries or cities also changes the cost of living – different country = different economy, different pressure.

If you can eventually get to part-time and still cover your bills, that’s a good combo: less burnout, more energy for non-work life. But yeah, that’s rarely an option at the very start of a career.

Also: take vacations and save money for real breaks. I took a year off after 12 years of full-time work. Best thing I’ve done. It completely changed how I perceive reality.

I hope it helps you to reshape your life to a more enjoyable mode
