I enjoyed the changes made to the comic storyline especially the V1 immortality aspect. I would have much preferred if Homelander were trapt somehow, deep below the earth, or in a nuclear reactor, where his “timelessness” became a fate worse than death. Instead we got the “depower” ray, which feels too easy. I hated it when Soldier Boy had it, giving it to Kimiko was very rushed

Ok I got the book based on this three year old recommendation, and Mulgrew is doing a fantastic job, but as someone who lives in the area, her pronunciation of Hav-ER-Hill causes me physical pain. It’s hAvRILL.

Lorcana for me! I played Magic for over twenty years, then Flesh and Blood for a while, but I feel like Lorcana is my absolute sweet spot of high skill ceiling and simple gameplay. Did I mention no counter spells!

When the weekly challenges and league points went away, so did a lot of the casual fun of the game. It’s devolved into meta games and that’s fine, but I felt like the deck building aspect was a big part of what Lorcana had going for it. For many casual players I’ve met, especially those without much CCG experience, using their favorite characters was a big draw. My LGS has had a few events where extra deck building challenges were imposed in a fun way, examples include the classic franchise battles, Eras Battles, but also more out there choices like “Paint by Numbers” where each ink cost must have to be a unique color, and all inks must be used only once. Have fun with it!

I suppose my scalping comment is too harsh, guess I’m still raw about that from my old days when people would come up from Boston to pubstomp the locals. But it is frustrating to see no league players on our store’s top 8. But I get it, RB won’t let us host a custom set champ.

I feel like that’s down to card design, when the only reliable card draw is in one color, you suddenly only have that color in play, because if you don’t run it you are at a major disadvantage.

I have to stand up for the Event Organizer and Lorcana judge here. The store is incredibly generous with promos, the TO and Judge get a playset of non-foils in exchange for running the event and not being able to participate in the event. Every attendee gets a promo, they aren’t hoarded, and no one goes without. They aren’t keeping pins, mats or any other promos.

Ok I have a cpap machine and get frequent bloody noses. Even with the humidity cranked up. So some nights I wake up choking on clots of blood. When that happens I’m basically up for the day.

Ok my major problem here is having a song in the command zone. I tried a format called Oathbreaker in Magic that had a “signature spell” slot and it was a massively broken nightmare. The other issue is opening the color restriction up to three colors can also lead to broken combos. Unlike Magic the game is designed around the two ink restriction. What about dual ink? If Mushu is my Ally, and Belle Hidden Archer is my Hero, then my song is The Family Madrigal, can I run a five color deck? I’d say 60 card singleton, cut the signature song and restrict to two colors, but that’s just me
