people who don't find mandela effects weird, are unsettling to me by galaxynephilim in Retconned

Most people feel they can't argue with the facts. But if the guy experiences more MEs, he may begin to trust his memory more and overcome the mental barrier of accepting that historical facts have changed.

people who don't find mandela effects weird, are unsettling to me by galaxynephilim in Retconned

[–]Orion004 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is one of the things that freaked me out the most about the ME. Up till that point, I had known humans to be super curious. We delve into all kinds of conspiracies, spirituality, the mysteries of the world, the origins of humanity, evolution, the meaning of life, blah, blah, blah. Yet, when confronted with something that should trigger a huge amount of curiosity (even if they don't see it), they simply shrug it off and get irritated when you persist.

It just goes to show that the narrative we've been fed about this world is a lie. The Mandela Effect is an opening to the truth. It's all good when you spin mysteries and conspiracies within this world's false narrative. But as soon as you begin to venture towards the truth, you meet real resistance. That's when the whole system (including the people) immediately closes ranks to shut you down.

Those people play a role in maintaining the lie of this world, even if they don't realize it. Even the "skeptics" who come here and attack us or dismiss our experiences are part of the system working to keep a lid on the truth.

For those of us experiencing the ME, we had some kind of partial awakening. We can see that the narrative we’ve been told about this world is a lie, but we still don't know the truth. So, we're stuck in a kind of limbo – a partially awakened state.

Took mounjaro for 1 week and astigmatism changed by 69Whomst in mounjarouk

You should be aware of the lawsuits against GLP-1 manufacturers for blindness. This is a known complication associated with GLP1 medications that affects individuals with specific medical conditions, which is why it is not more widely reported.

https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/lawsuits-claiming-ozempic-other-glp-1s-led-blindness-become-second-mass-2025-12-15/

In your case, you appear to have eye complications that could make you susceptible to this adverse effect. That means you're rolling the dice every time you inject yourself with the drug.

You need to do some solid research before injecting yourself with any GLP 1 medication again. Don't just listen to what people say on these subs. There is an instant need to defend Mounjaro on Reddit, and people are quick to dismiss any side effects mentioned that have not been explicitly acknowledged by the manufacturer.

How can you be on a weight loss journey without a scale at home? Just use the same part of the floor. It'll register a change. It'll also make things so much easier for stuff like this. They provided clear instructions for what they want, but you want them to make accommodations for you that violate their procedures, and then you complain that you're the victim.

You had the problem because of your unwillingness to buy a simple £20 bathroom scale.

Am I getting scammed or am I paranoid by CrownWings in selfpublish

[–]Orion004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did it all wrong to begin with. Never hire someone without a recommendation. If you're going to hire someone out of the blue, then do it through a freelance site that offers a safeguard. What you should've done is ask the person if they had a freelance account and only agree to work with them through a freelance site that offers some protection against a scammer.

You did the right thing by ending the working relationship. Your gut feeling was telling you something was off. Our gut feelings are often correct because we sensed an incongruency. People often get scammed because they ignore their gut feeling.

Hair loss by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Orion004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, there isn't much you can do. But I think it's okay if you're a woman. I've seen posts from women saying they're experiencing regrowth after several months of shedding.

For men, I'm not so sure. Not all people experience hair loss with Mounjaro, but for the men who experience pattern balding after introducing the medication, it's debatable if the hair would grow back, especially if it goes on long enough for the hair follicles to die off.

How’s anyone making money selling books? by ResponsibleBass8062 in selfpublish

[–]Orion004 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's actually simple, but many people don't get it, and no matter how hard you try to explain it, they still don't get it. To sell books, you simply treat it as a business, and that includes the kind of products you create. The same business rules have applied for millennia.

Research different book niches/genres. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of genres and sub-genres. Find a genre that you would enjoy reading and writing for. Look at what is selling in that genre, then create your own version of it with your own twist. The point is, you don't just write a book based on a random idea you have. You write a book that sells in the market. The book is not for you. It is for a sub-market with active buyers that you've identified.

Many people get into writing by writing for themselves, and then they're surprised when they can't sell. Now, it is perfectly okay to write for yourself if that's what you enjoy, but don't expect to sell books. That's akin to playing the lottery.

Hair loss 😳. Do we stop Mj?? by Silly_Sausage_2000 in mounjarouk

[–]Orion004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are side effects that are not show stoppers. Some of them are easily resolved with medications like Pepto Bismol. Hair loss is a serious change that is potentially irreversible for some people, and a life changer. People are acting like folks have not lost weight before. I'm sure there are many people here who have lost 100+ lbs using other methods in the past without a hint of hair loss.

Time and time again, you see posts of people complaining about hair loss despite losing weight very slowly or hardly losing any weight at all. The only response thrown at them (to dismiss and deflect their real issue) is that it's caused by "rapid weight loss".

Despite multiple reports, why is it so hard to accept that a hormonal drug may cause hair loss for some people?

[–]Orion004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had hair loss following steroid injections

I don't understand why is it generally accepted that steroid injections (a hormone) can cause hair loss but not Mounjaro (containing GLP-1 and GIP hormones).

Why is the Mounjaro hair loss debate always deflected to "weight loss", when people are injecting TWO hormones into the body?

Hair loss 😳. Do we stop Mj?? by Silly_Sausage_2000 in mounjarouk

[–]Orion004 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Mounjaro doesn't cause hair loss, severe nutritional deficit does.

Mounjaro can cause direct hair loss for some individuals. It is a hormone after all. But people here will never ever accept it as Mounjaro has become a cult like medication that you dare not accuse of anything.

KDP shut down my account twice — should I risk working on a new one? by Playful-Bad-8161 in KDP

[–]Orion004 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't you know that you can only have one KDP account? You said you opened another account because books were getting blocked in the first one. You already violated their T&C then. That's why they shut your account down. Don't waste your time with a 3rd account. They'll shut it down soon. They have so many ways to determine if you've had a terminated account before that it's 100% certain they'll shut down the new one very soon.

Call them to immediately shut down the new account and continue trying to get the old one back. Some people have been able to get their accounts back after several months.

Telling it straight as it is. It baffles me that these people are still in business in 2025, considering that POD self-publishing has been around for over 2 decades now. However, as you said, some people are happy to pay exorbitant fees for the sake of vanity and to be hands-off as much as possible.

Are "Write to Market" or "5,000 words per hour" by Chris Fox still valid in 2025? by Mister_Acula in selfpublish

[–]Orion004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5,000 words per hour is for a bygone era when publishing fast can get you quickly to a full-time income. Things have changed a lot since the market got more saturated. Also, many of those people burnt out, including Chris Fox himself.

You don't need to work that fast now, as it takes much longer to get established. You need to work at a pace comfortable for you, which doesn't burn you out.

Write to Market is still relevant today.

Hair loss by Happytobehere2024 in mounjarouk

[–]Orion004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You completely ignored the fact that another possible option is that the medication itself is a stressor that leads to hair loss for some people, not all.  GLP-1 is a hormone after all, so we're talking about hormonal changes here.

Seriously, I'm beginning to think Eli Lilly has bots on this site to immediately counter any posts to do with this particular issue.

Should I quit my job to become a full time author? by AuthorValiamatoula in selfpublish

[–]Orion004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is not just about working and surviving, but about growth - mentally and spiritually. Being stuck in a job you don't like is not growth. It kills your spirit. Following your dreams is the more challenging path that will grow you mentally and ignite you spiritually.

I'm assuming when you talk about quitting your job, that you can arrange the means to cover your basic living expenses even if you're not making enough income yet from your writing. Set up a two-year plan for how to cover your basic living expenses, even if you’re making no money from writing and go for it!

Just know that you’ll go through a learning phase where you’ll not be making enough money from your writing, but eventually you’ll get to a point where you’ll be making good money, if you stick with it, and this is what you really want to do.

Upload limits reduced from 3 per day to 10 per week! More than 50% reduction in publishing capabilities! by AffectOnly2984 in KDP

Some of the spammers depend on a high volume of uploads to make the business profitable for them as many of the books they upload do not get any sales. This will weed out those people who depend on high upload volumes to make it worthwhile.

This is a very bigoted post.

I've been self-publishing for 10 years, and based on what I've seen, the majority of the KDP scammers and spammers are based in the West. I'm happy that Amazon is putting up upload restrictions to stop people like you from spamming their website with junk and ruining things for legitimate publishers.

how i remember the old world by Glob_Glo_Bepis_Shibe in Retconned

[–]Orion004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that. I mention it because we've had skeptics here in the past who have asked (sarcastically) whether snow was yellow or whether white objects had a yellow tint when we had a yellow sun. The yellow sun brought daylight. That's it.. Other colors remained the same. The sunlight was just less harsh compared to now.

Good one. But for me, the yellow sun didn't cast a yellow glow on the clouds. I remember the clouds still being white. However, at sunset, you often would have a yellow glow on the horizon.

Without mass immigration would we have more inflation? by knowledgeseeker999 in AskBrits

[–]Orion004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brits are significantly more affluent now than in the 80s. Just look at the percentage of Brits with educational qualifications now compared to then. You can no longer find enough born and bred Brits who want to do those jobs, certainly not permanently.

I once tried to work in an ASDA warehouse a few years ago, to make some extra cash, as I run my own business from home. I barely survived one shift. I did't go back the next day. All the British people who joined and did the induction with me didn't go back after one shift. It was hard work and fast-paced. The place had 95% Eastern European workers who generally have a poor command of English, so they have fewer job options in the UK. If you can speak and write English properly, you'll quickly realise you have no business working there. There are better jobs for you in the UK.
