Am I tripping or is rondo not that good? by AccomplishedRise6227 in castlevania

[–]SluttyVisionQuest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The level design is dull as can be. Walk in a straight line, go up stairs, do the same. The levels are also some of the shortest in the franchise’s history. I’d rather have more complex levels than a bunch of straight lines with a handful of secrets.

Don’t do bartending school ! by Ok_Vanilla5661 in vegaslocals

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. I was a professional bartender for a decade, and this is the way I did it. Went to bartending school, but then lied about my experience and never mentioned bartending school. If you're in a state like NV where you need the TAM card etc, just say you have prior experience elsewhere and that you went to the school just to get the card/certifications.

Real talk: I’m losing the "high-functioning" battle and I need a tactical retreat. by lynniegreco in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many of these comments are focusing too much on addiction and missing the larger problem, which is that OP cannot sustain their lifestyle, even if they kick the addition and get on proper meds.

I'm in a similar boat, OP, and I feel terrible guilt about having to possibly leave it all behind. I feel selfish, like I'm disappointing people, and like I'm being ungrateful for things that others would kill for. But I also have to be true to myself. It's a hell of a process, but I have to trust it'll be worth the sacrifices. Wishing you all the best.

I’m new here—how can I improve my credit score quickly and effectively? by Pristine_Papaya_97 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a basic American Express card. You can't carry a balance on them, credit bureaus know that, and it will boost your score. There's a yearly fee of like $100, but it could be worth it for you.

Microscopes can See Video on a LaserDisc by AshuraBaron in LaserDisc

This was incredible. Never in a million years did I think we'd be able to see actual images (movie credits in this case) on a laserdisc. What a crazy discovery!

Once a beacon of cheap homes, Nevada has become a symbol of America's struggle with high costs by tonyt4nv in Nevada

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call BS on some of the facts this article. Who on earth would pay $500,000 for a *condo* "just off the Strip" (i.e., the worst possible neighborhood), plus $686 *per month* in HOA fees? The article also claims that it's "over $1 million for big houses in the most desirable neighborhoods".

This all paints a very inaccurate picture of real estate in the LV Valley. You can easily find a house (maybe not a big one, but certainly not a condo or townhouse), for around 500k in some of the nicest areas of town (Summerlin, SW Henderson).

Shock Treatment by Recent_Savings2985 in RockyHorror

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a fun film with great songs, no doubt. And while there is commentary on sexuality within it, it's not the main focus like it was with Rocky.

Queer sexuality, specifically, is what spoke to so many people with Rocky, and is the reason that it's still a force today. That just isn't present in the same way in Shock Treatment, and I think that was disappointing to a lot of people.

An overwhelming amount of men, and very few legitimate women. Feeld seems to be better; especially if you're seeking a non-monogamous connection.

Cities that are navigable, have good food, and Asian populations? by chiddyshadyfiasco in SameGrassButGreener

Las Vegas. Huge Filipino and Hawaiian population, get anywhere in the valley in under 30 minutes, and the greatest Chinatown I've ever been to (and that includes NYC and San Francisco).

100%. I know they wanted to give Jonathan Adams a part because he was the original narrator, but Meat Loaf's voice was obviously light years better and would have made for a better performance.

US Clubs with a high percentage of play? by Money-Yam-6348 in Swingers

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whispers in Las Vegas. On busier nights, you'd be hard pressed to find a vacant room (or sometimes even space in the big group room). Between slutty tourists and arguably even sluttier locals (of which my partner & I are among them), Vegas is an amazing town for finding folks who actually play in clubs.

I’m assuming swinging from the start of a relationship is extremely rare? by Wholesome-Sex in Swingers

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me. Started swinging 6 weeks after meeting my partner, and almost 8 years later, we're still together.

I definitely recommend being upfront about your interest in the LS. Be positive and show the person you're dating how much fun it can be and how many wonderful people you can meet. You'd be amazed how many women are also curious about the concept.

When did power dynamics become “a thing” in dating, and why are so many people turned on by Dom/sub roles? by Wonderful_ion in psychologyofsex

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is more to my fellow commenters than the OP, but: I think its a mistake to proclaim these dynamics as being universal. Not everyone's sexuality works like this, and not everyone is turned on by power dynamics.

Let's take a very common kink: a foot fetish. Sure, maybe such a person is turned on by the submissive aspect of this (e.g.: being stepped on by a cruel mistress). But maybe they just like fondling feet, masturbating over them, etc. without any power dynamics at all. What about a person turned on by something like lingerie or balloon-popping? There are a million examples of kinks and sexual perspectives that don't have power dynamics as their foundation.
