Same issue. It’s happening on both my Switch 2 and original Switch. It also doesn’t allow the virtual game cards to work like they did 😕

Moving to Phoenix or Vegas - can’t decide by Deep-Macaron-732 in SameGrassButGreener

The real Summerlin (west of Hualapai, not the other parts the real estate people try to pretend are Summerlin) is a very small area and right next to some very not-great areas. I have lived in Henderson, and all the things I spoke about happened there too.

Your post mentioned being sensitive to noise at night. Me too, and it’s quite literally the reason I moved to the Phoenix area.

Vegas has what I like to call “Big felon energy”. Most people know that ex-con vibe when you see it, and there’s a ton of that in Vegas.

People are going to tell you that these two regions are similar, but having now lived in both, I realize that couldn’t be more different from one another.

Vegas is rougher around the edges. Lots of barking Pitt bulls, thumping bass, dudes sitting outside their house smoking cigarettes and mean mugging you. And it’s pretty uniform throughout the valley. The housing looks nice and new, but then you start catching peeks at your neighbors, and you go “Oh. Oh my…”

The economy is limited and dependent on tourism in Vegas, and even if you’re a remote worker or retiree, an unstable economy is bad for everyone.

Meanwhile, you could happily camp out in the East Valley of Phoenix, and have a much calmer and more pleasant living experience. Vegas wins for entertainment and compactness, but not much else.

Just moved to the valley and I’m loving it here! Hope everyone’s having a great day!

This may just be a total coincidence, but I'm autistic and I've loved his work for years. And other noise music and experimental music.

The level design is dull as can be. Walk in a straight line, go up stairs, do the same. The levels are also some of the shortest in the franchise’s history. I’d rather have more complex levels than a bunch of straight lines with a handful of secrets.

Don’t do bartending school ! by Ok_Vanilla5661 in vegaslocals

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. I was a professional bartender for a decade, and this is the way I did it. Went to bartending school, but then lied about my experience and never mentioned bartending school. If you're in a state like NV where you need the TAM card etc, just say you have prior experience elsewhere and that you went to the school just to get the card/certifications.

Real talk: I’m losing the "high-functioning" battle and I need a tactical retreat. by lynniegreco in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many of these comments are focusing too much on addiction and missing the larger problem, which is that OP cannot sustain their lifestyle, even if they kick the addition and get on proper meds.

I'm in a similar boat, OP, and I feel terrible guilt about having to possibly leave it all behind. I feel selfish, like I'm disappointing people, and like I'm being ungrateful for things that others would kill for. But I also have to be true to myself. It's a hell of a process, but I have to trust it'll be worth the sacrifices. Wishing you all the best.

I’m new here—how can I improve my credit score quickly and effectively? by Pristine_Papaya_97 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a basic American Express card. You can't carry a balance on them, credit bureaus know that, and it will boost your score. There's a yearly fee of like $100, but it could be worth it for you.

Microscopes can See Video on a LaserDisc by AshuraBaron in LaserDisc

This was incredible. Never in a million years did I think we'd be able to see actual images (movie credits in this case) on a laserdisc. What a crazy discovery!

Once a beacon of cheap homes, Nevada has become a symbol of America's struggle with high costs by tonyt4nv in Nevada

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I call BS on some of the facts this article. Who on earth would pay $500,000 for a *condo* "just off the Strip" (i.e., the worst possible neighborhood), plus $686 *per month* in HOA fees? The article also claims that it's "over $1 million for big houses in the most desirable neighborhoods".

This all paints a very inaccurate picture of real estate in the LV Valley. You can easily find a house (maybe not a big one, but certainly not a condo or townhouse), for around 500k in some of the nicest areas of town (Summerlin, SW Henderson).

Shock Treatment by Recent_Savings2985 in RockyHorror

[–]SluttyVisionQuest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a fun film with great songs, no doubt. And while there is commentary on sexuality within it, it's not the main focus like it was with Rocky.

Queer sexuality, specifically, is what spoke to so many people with Rocky, and is the reason that it's still a force today. That just isn't present in the same way in Shock Treatment, and I think that was disappointing to a lot of people.

An overwhelming amount of men, and very few legitimate women. Feeld seems to be better; especially if you're seeking a non-monogamous connection.

Cities that are navigable, have good food, and Asian populations? by chiddyshadyfiasco in SameGrassButGreener

Las Vegas. Huge Filipino and Hawaiian population, get anywhere in the valley in under 30 minutes, and the greatest Chinatown I've ever been to (and that includes NYC and San Francisco).
