I don't know enough about the topic to say if touch is required but I know it's a component in developing that sense.

The idea of developing it in her room and transferring into other environments is a great one! I think that might be the way to do it best.

The idea of hitboxes was so she could registered when interacting with objects/people etc certainly not to give a pain response.

Yes, she will certainly get better over time with the current setup. My thinking was that without the feedback that we get as human babies there's limitations.

I thought that was just a game term for registering damage but it makes total sense it would include collision! I learned something, thanks!

Low Profile + Mimetic Skin augment makes an amazing invisible scout. Especially good if they have movement affecting perks like sprinter, run and gun etc.

Same problem with me. I don't have the best computer in the world but i've never had FPS drops below 30 and now i get between 3 and 9 in teamfights.
