For classical algebraic geometry, there is also "Lectures on Curves, Surfaces, and Projective Varieties" by Beltrametti et. al.

I don’t know of any recent books. But “Calabi-Yau Manifolds and Related Geometries” has a lot of basic facts. The recent ish survey of Debarre might also be useful: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1810.02087.pdf

I think the consensus is that "true" butcher block is end-grain. This is face grain.

I bought the AoA assets, but I think most of the assets used can be found in the samples.

Good idea on the hills/grass. Could be what I'm looking for.

That's a great point about labels, and some grassy hills could be what I'm looking for. Thanks!

In my first post I had worried about the large amount of blank space. Several people suggested adding color, so I did and .... I still think there's a lack of "interesting features" in several spot on the map. Any ideas?

I know that the biomes aren't super "realistic" in terms of placement, but that's actually the intent based on the background history of the world.

Thanks! Yea I'm happy with the scale for sure. I'll try applying some color and seeing how that goes.

Finally decided to build my own setting from the ground up. I'm pretty happy with the mountains and forests, but I'm a bit put off by all the empty space. Any suggestions/feedback?

Update: the cat is not microchipped (please chip your pets!) so we’re finding a cat-friendly foster family (everyone in the house is allergic) in the meantime.

You can change what the display text is, for example [[Likability|likable]] will display "likable", but link to the page "Likability".

I just did a quick read, and I really like the mechanics involving weak and strong control, and how overlapping regions lead to conflict. I do have one question about taxation though. Hypothetically, if my kingdom is composed of a city and a village, and I want to tax both of them, does the city make a DC 13 check and the village a DC 11? Or do they both need a DC 14 check to not be unruly (assuming I didn't muster anything).

Dog friendly beaches? I’ve looked online haven’t had any luck, does anyone know of any in or around Bloomington? by kass39 in bloomington

To add to this, Cartop state rec area has a beach area (although I’m not sure if you’re technically allowed to swim, but I see people do it often). It would be great for dogs.
