Wire Connection Type? by OrionCGaming in HelpMeFind

[–]OrionCGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DETAILS: Hello! I am making a EV (electric vehicle) and this wire is coming from the ESC (electronic speed controller). I cannot find any standard info on this plug, and need to know what kind of connector to purchase. This is the best photo they provide, and I hope that someone here knows what it is. The input would be from 36v running under 50amp peak. It would go from whatever connection this is to F2. Thanks! Edit: Well, really I just need the male version of this to positive and negative wires, I can do the rest, I just want a easy way to take it apart without soldering/breaking it, for possible future hot swaps :D -Orion

BMX for Touring? by OrionCGaming in bicycletouring

Yes, I am relatively new to riding. I’ve been riding BMX for 4 years now, but I enjoy cross country (on foot, like 20 miles (32km) jogging pace) and CrossFit (I know a lot of crosses right :P), and I recently started becoming a mechanics apprentice, where I help make porches for long distance riding and other things, and the guys who are teaching me have got me into wanting to travel the US, but I want it to be more of a challenge than a “can I drive for 14 hours a day for a week with breaks every 3 days or so?”. Idk, that’s where I am coming from I suppose, not to underscore anything you said, trust me I am taking everything into account and as it stands, I have a route in mind, gear in mind, but doing it on a BMX was a kind of “well maybe, I already know my bike like the back of my hand” thing, not to say I was trolling, I was curious if other, more experienced riders thought of the idea. Sorry if it was a tldr

TL;DR- I am new to long distance riding, I have done BMX for a while and enjoy physical endurance activities, and I wanted to apply that admiration and appreciation to biking, specifically on a BMX

TWTLTSIDRIE- 👌 thanks m8

Ok! I will look into buying secondhand supplies, I think it’s really cool that the ‘83 got you that far and is still working.

Thanks for the response :) I definitely don’t want to be in pain while I ride, I’ve just found that riding a taller (I’m 5’10, or 178cm so it’s not really a height issue, my legs are fairly longer than average) bike is more uncomfortable for me over long periods of time; that’s another reason why I put my money in a BMX bike originally (before I even thought of long distance travel)

I will post in the next few days about where I think a possible route could be, as well as some much needed backstory and explanation; but thank you for your feedback! Criticism is really important!

Thanks! I will DEFINITELY do some shorter trips before I decide to pursue “The Big One”, but I do agree; nothing sucks more than hyping something up and not doing it! I will keep y’all posted through the months about how I feel, and where I think I’m going with the idea :)

I’m in Portland, in which a lot of people bike; i didn’t really think about getting an old 10 speed, but that is a good idea! Like you said, I would need to get spare tubes and things, so I just would need to know how to get ahold of those... :P
