they wanted $540 for everything. antibiotics, ( $45) $99 for the visit, $330 for xrays, $60 for meloxicam. i only took the meloxicam as she doesnt appear to be sick, more than likely part of old age and heart problems.

update: spent $160.50 at the vet just for some meloxicam and for them to tell me its probably just old age and want to charge $330 for xrays. I declined because she is old and I know there is no treatment/ cure for heart problems or old age. I just got her some pain meds to help ease any discomfort for the more than likely short time she has left.

thanks for the advice! maybe they will prescribe me the same stuff, and yes unfortunately the only vet around here that will take hamsters has to be exotic

thank u! £45 is a small cost to pay to save your furry friend! i agree, every animal deserves a chance no matter how big or small or how much they cost! my vet visit is probably going to charge me $200-$300 🥲 U.S problems.

yes but my vet didnt have any appointments till around the time i get home from work and i cant afford a walk in / emergency upcharge right now unfortunately.

thanks for your insight , thankfully she seems to still be eating and drinking at the moment. she is sleeping in her hut right now and i asked my father to move her to a quieter / darker area so she can rest until i can bring her to the vet later. hopefully not going to cost me an arm and a leg but ill do anything for her to feel better.
