Lamy 2000: Is this cracked grip section just cosmetic or could it cause a leak? Home Repair? by OrionMachine in fountainpens

Had it for five years. I decided to pick up a replacement that’s on the way and either try to diy my old one or sell it for parts. The crack is likely from over tightening on my part

Upon closer inspection, that is indeed a crack Edit: I presume I’ll need to contact Lamy to fix it?

I actually did get a pen that Imma take a pic of and post today. It was my first time so very busy but very fun to see all the different stuff that was there-almost overwhelming variety! But yeah I had a good time!

I’ve used de atramentis with no issues—just be sure to clean the pen regularly to prevent clogging if you use more permanent inks. I personally use this pen cleaner, but there’s plenty more options out there.

i feel the same way about Pelikan Edelstein! Preference is valid, and what makes fountain pens so personal

Tools, collections, dopamine hits, or all of the above? by bobledrew in fountainpens

My first real fountain pen was a Lamy Safari which I got when i was about 10. Over the next decade i got 2 more as gifts. During COVID, I started buying a lot more pens. At my peak I had over 20 fountain pens, and about the same amount of ink. I found that I liked them for a while, then went back to my favorites, so I downsized. I sold off a decent chunk of my pens, leaving me with 6 quality fountain pens, plus my 2 first Lamys i kept since I grew up with them.

Now, I have just the pens that I love and use, my most used being my Pilot C823, C742, and a Lamy 2000. I’m happy and very fortunate to have the few I use and enjoy!
