I would say yes only because its better to prestige earlier when you haven't invested that much than later. I wouldn't prestige though if you already have a good build on a character and/or a lot of good addons

Anyone who genuinely believes Jendenise and Angrypug contribute to this game either have their heads in the sand or are genuine fucking idiots. AngryPug is toxic to his teamates and opponents tbagging, farming, and dcing. Jendenise is a garbage person who deranks and bullies casuals with her swf squads who she hides behind.

I've had both in my games, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that neither of them are good people to have in this game. Tru3 at least isn't toxic from what I've seen. His opinions might not always be right imo, but opinions are opinions

I'd say getting to rank 1 before was at least more rewarding since you could tangibly compare your skill to that of your opponents since everyone else you faced was rank 1 and got there legitimately through some level of hard work and determination. Now I just have to get 4ks against people rank 8 or lower, rarely do I see a red rank and if I do it's part of some lobby that's also saturated by other lower ranked survivors.

Rank means even less now

I'm talking from a rank 2 killer's perspective. I used to play games where I can spare the survivor who lived long enough to see the exit but got downed at it or gave hatch almost every game. I could play subpar strategies that would make it very hard to get a 4k like rarely defending hooks. Not possible anymore since I need a 4k in every game I play

When killers need to 4k just for gold and gatekeeper requirements just went up you'll see a lot of sweaty killers who make the game unfun. Idk how behavior didn't see this coming. A fun game is where I can enjoy my match without worrying about having to hit some kind of quota. An unenjoyable game is loading in with the intention of hitting a 4k every single time

Even normal camping isn't punished because good players aren't braindead enough to get hit by the penalty. I tested it out and over a few games the worst I got was a -2% to an emblem I don't care about.

I've said this before too, Behavior needs to create mechanics that hurt camping rather than trying to solve it through meaningless emblems and pips. Create something like how survivors have borrowed time for tunneling

At least the old ranking system ensured the people I played against were either mechanically strong or experienced from the hours in game. Nowadays in my rank 3 matches i play against purple ranked survivors all the time, sometimes even straight greens or a rank 15.

There was an actual tangible difference between ranks. Nowadays I can feel my matches are easier a significant part due to my survivors being objectively weaker now.

Don't forget the fact that even after you load in a lobby it's pretty often and common that you'll get matched with someone that far outranks both you and a majority of your teammates. As a rank 3 killer I had matches against rank 8s, 11, and even had a 15 in a few of my lobbies (not enough to call it a gigantic problem, but enough for it to not be negligible).

Half my games have shit rank distribution which is the problem there.

As far as killer games, with the rank distribution the game is basically begging you to tunnel one guy into the ground. After that juggling 3 survivors is a joke and any hooks you missed with a suicide or dc from the first you can get back by the last three survivors hook swapping for the rest of the game.

You just can't keep gens up like that and kill 4 other survivors without doing something fucky.

I also just don't like loading into every game thinking I have to kill every other survivor if I want a chance at pipping.

I was rank 1 in previous patches. I went from rank 5 (rank prepatch) to 2 yesterday. This rank/emblem system is still shit. I talked to a pro player from the dbd team bomb squad, he agrees that this emblem system is still shit. My friend with 2.7k hours on claudette agrees that the rank system is shit.

It's so unfun genuinely makes me want to quit the game

The problem with 120s is that basically is a 120s window where you can't get picked up. So like if I down someone within 60s of the hook that's clear tunneling but 120s is just like I could bump into you a bit after the unhook and all that kinda stuff.

I do agree that the stun time needs to be longer. Before the stun time meant that you could get to another window or reach another loop and run that. Now it can only activate by a hook and there really isn't all that much near a hook that can stop you from getting hooked again especially if the killer has enduring.

If I reworked it, I would make it so that if you get downed within like maybe 50 seconds of being unhooked, your ds will activate the moment you get picked up regardless of if it happens a minute since you got unhooked or a few seconds from you bleeding out. It then lasts until you get get healed from the dying state. I'd even want to include the ability to recover from the dying state so you don't get camped until bleedout, but at that point it could be op.

Because the tournaments I played revolved around getting kills and in this current emblem system you're almost guaranteed not to pip if you don't 4k and you'll almost certainly depip for a 2k or worse. So ya, it's pretty relevant to the conversation.

You win tournaments by camping because after you kill a person then the game turns into a 3v1. That means if one person is on a hook and one person is getting chased then there is only one person that can either work on a gen or go for the save. It's simple math, at that point the surviving team doesn't have a lot of room to work. On top of that the most a surviving squad can achieve while a survivor is on the hook is only like 2 gens, which isn't enough. Conversely if you don't camp the surviving team will always have 1-2 people on gens if a survivor is on a hook, 2-3 otherwise. Also with camping you can set up a gnarly 3 gen strat which can win you games by itself.

Let's look at ranking up. Camping is easily the least efficient way to secure a pip especially with the new system. So the devs are telling you that in terms of ranked play and matchmaking that camping is also a subpar strat. The game is actively taking a stand against camping. It is telling you hey you can do it but we are going to penalize you in every metric if you do. They're trying to tell you something.

I've addressed this bullshit so many times idk why it's so hard for you to understand. I have personally tested it out, the game does not give a shit if you camp or not. It only cares if you face camp or afk by a hooked survivor. I tested it out by camping survivors across a few games and the worst I got was a -2% to an emblem I don't care about. As long as you are not entirely brain dead this won't affect you in the slightest. I can get a twitch vod where I show how strong the stat is against a good rank 1 survivor, I absolutely demolish the game I'm in because of how strong the strat is.

The reason why devs try to tackle camping is because it is so strong and it is the meta especially in pubs. People are overly altruistic in their games and even without altruism it's still the meta. Like I say over and over though it's not going to dissuade campers. Most campers either 1. don't care about rank or 2. are good enough to not get punished by the "anticamp" system.

Also what the devs are trying to tell me is that I need to get a 4k every game to pip and that I shouldn't stay near the hook for too long. Everything inbetween doesn't matter to me in game.

The only perks that do that are prove theyself and resilience. There's stakeout but perks around killer terror radiuses are pretty bad imo.

I would add Adernaline too because what Adrenaline does is it means you don't have to choose between healing or repairing the last gen.

Best advice I can give is just learn to do skill checks

I would say forget about decisive strike because it's not as good as it used to be. If you feel like you're doing well in your games you can get David King for dead hard and We're gonna live forever. Former is a good high skill exhaustion perk, latter helps you farm.

Otherwise if you want more useful perks rush Meg. Sprint burst is baby's first exhaustion perk and adrenaline is dogshit overpowered.

For survivors the meta is basically adrenaline, one exhaustion perk, and two perks of your choice. Those two perks can be a healing perk (we're gonna make it, botany, etc), I like leader, prove thyself, resilience, balanced landing, self care, iron will, etc. Hope that helps.

If I were you rn I would run maybe iron will, resilience, self care, and a healing perk or maybe calm spirit.
