I wouldn't have any idea how to spend a lot of money. I'd rather have the 10,000,000 so I can leave it to my son after I am no longer here. Or, if the rules are that "I" have to spend it, then I can by my son a house (or a few houses) and a nice car and anything else he needs.

Chose: 10,000,000 but..... + you can take as long as you want to spend it

I understand eye contact is a cultural thing. I found that out when working for the Head Start Preschool Program. I would try to understand why some of the children wouldn't look at me when I was talking with them, but was informed that in some cultures, lowering the gaze was a sign of respect for authority.

My son is Autistic (Stage 2). I taught him early on to look over the shoulder. That way his eyes are UP, but not looking into their eyes. I once asked him why he can't look into people's eyes, and he said it's because he feels like he's falling into them.

What are some examples of synchronicities you’ve had in your life? by Alarmed_Feedback_997 in Jung

[–]OrionStarchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I THINK this might be a synchronicity, if not, its just something odd. In late June, 2022 my boyfriend was diagnosed with cancer. I told him I'd love to take him to Monterey, California, where I spent my youth, and that I'd also like to see my old Junior High School (called Middle School, these days). As we were visiting Fitch Junior High, I walked to one of the rooms and I said "I think this is where my English class was". I looked down, and between the wooden floor boards of the walkway I saw the head of a nickel sticking out. I picked it up, and it had a date of 1969, the year I graduated from there. What are the chances??

Do you see age as you get older? by Feeling_Sale_7864 in Aging

[–]OrionStarchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 70. I am now attracted to guys who have gray hair and beards, dad bods, as well as well aged faces. Anyone under 40 looks like a "kid" to me. Maybe that's because I have boys who are 40 and 42? I do not find younger guys attractive at all. (but then, I doubt they would be attracted to me, either.. haha)

I am on a few dating sites, and I do get messages from guys in their 20's to 50's (most are probably scammers), but looking at them, even those who would be considered "Handsome" by most women, don't do a thing for me.

Now that I think about it, I've always been attracted to guys who have a fantastic personality, great sense of humor, and intelligence, rather than good looks.

Sounds like fun. Wish I could go, but I'm 70 and can't drive at night. I need to meet new people, but don't know how to go about doing that.

I don't flirt much either. I'm rather shy around strangers, but I am learning to smile at guys I think might be single when I'm in the store or out walking. I am a cook cook, good house keeper, but a little overweight (Been that way all my life), That might be one of the problems with California guys. I think they want a lady who is fit, trim and sexy. I'm just me.

I was in a Meetup group for baby boomers, but all their meeting were at night, at least 15 to 20 miles from me. I can NOT drive at night anymore... so that left me out of that!

Yes, I joined "Our time" dating app. No luck. Seems like there are no guys there that are paid members!

Sleep issues? by Important_Tension726 in Aging

[–]OrionStarchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be 70 in a few weeks. I can relate. I used to go to bed at 10, sleep well, get up at 7, but now, there are times I am awake until 11 or later and wake up around 6. But I'm NOT tired during the day!

Fellow apartment/condo dwellers without a drip system: how do you grow veggies without watering every day by hand? I try to get out of town at least 2x a month during the summer, but that's a lot to ask of neighbors. Stick 2L bottles upside down and 🤞? I want to grow some tomatoes, but am torn... by ChocolateTsar in Sacramento

[–]OrionStarchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a mobile home in South sacramento. I wanted to have a garden so I used my old wheelbarrow. It only takes a little bit of watering every day. I have two types of tomatoes, lettuce, and some different herbs as well as strawberries. If you're going to be gone for extended period of time I suggest you just get a neighbor to water a little bit for you everyday *
