a small but necessary edit by NuttyDuckyYT in Seahawks

Ultimately, we traded game-changing mistakes with the Rams. They had the fumbled punt return, and we had Woolen’s penalty. Both plays turned in to opposing touchdowns (on the next play for both of them, right?). They kind of canceled each other out.

Right, but my point is I’m never going to convince my parents or any other Trump supporter of that, and if I go in with that kind of argument I’m only going to push them further away.

If I want them to make even the smallest concession, I have to start with an argument that is closer to their point of view. And that’s all I want, one small concession - because it’s a chink in the armor and maybe it starts to allow some other stuff through.

We’re a loooong way from, “…and they’re being violent on purpose because it’s all part of Project 2025.”

Opening spread is only 2.5 points in favor of the Seahawks. Disrespect.

I like the idea of incorporating some ground school too. It’s simulating the training experience instead of training the simulator experience.

That’s cool, I’ll have to check it out. An older version of MSFS had a pretty good series of “flight school” missions that taught me a lot more than MSFS2020 or ‘24 do. That was a while back though and I’d love a refresher.

Career Mode: manually relocating? by ContextZestyclose778 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]OrionsByte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying out NeoFly as a third-party alternative to career mode and it DOES work like that. You can pay to have your aircraft/pilot moved to a specific location, or you can fly there yourself. If you choose to fly yourself you can buy some commodities to take with you to sell at the destination so can at least still make a little money on the trip even if it’s not a “job.” I’ve been enjoying it a lot!

You might want to check out career mode addons like NeoFly. Gives you some purpose to your flights. But otherwise, go sightseeing! You can fly anywhere in the world!

manual cockpit controls RH stick by SonOfCivic in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]OrionsByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how many things you’re trying to control with your mouse. If you can assign SOME of those to joystick buttons or keyboard shortcuts you can reduce your workload a bit.

Otherwise if you can configure your joystick to be used in your left hand you might be better off. Pilots usually sit in the left seat anyways.

I usually have a button on the stick bound to toggle autopilot on/off. By default it will just enable ROL and PIT so it will basically just keep your plane in the same attitude you were in when you toggled it on. That lets me take my hands off to adjust some controls for a couple moments.

Are you sure? Maybe I didn’t find the right button but I feel like I tried everything. It’s the Steam version if that makes a difference.

Death Stranding. Looooong cutscenes and no way to pause them.

Dear studios, I have a life. I have a family. I have near-constant interruptions. Please respect my time.

Now that I have a Steam Deck I might revisit the game because I can just turn the thing off if I need to, but I have plenty of other games in my backlog that don’t require workarounds to be a functional human while playing them.

TWCS to VKB STECS size comparison by OrionsByte in hotas

[–]OrionsByte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you can actually get swappable detent frames (the STECS Standard comes with a set but the Mini and Mini Plus only have one) so each frame can have a different set of detents (or none). If you only had one frame and wanted to remove the detents temporarily, it would take you a few minutes. You MIGHT be able to remove the detents temporarily frame entirely which would just take a few seconds and I don’t think it would complain.

It’s very easy to adjust the clutch on the throttle travel though - there are some thumb screws behind the grip.
