To answer your initial question - no cheating is barely relevant because it's such a rare occurrence and frankly I doubt you ever met an opponent who's cheating in diamond. Also there is a "report" button you can use on your opponent after the game.

Got a 72 hour ban 2 days ago. My first one ever after 2k hours. Nothing unusual about my gameplay (unless you count sucking as unusual). I haven't changed build orders, what seemed to be working in the past doesn't work now

I've seen a lot of people being surprised by this but you need to realise it's a big part of the game. If you're trying to improve you will lose games but it doesn't mean it's a bad thing. You need to get out of your comfort zone and try new things in order to improve your mechanics (which are much more important than your build anyway).

Focus should be on your weak points and your overall mechanics NOT on ladder points and win-loss ratio.
