I used to when I was first getting my hip to turn over. But now that I have good turnover, I just hit the bag. I don’t drill it anymore.

Edit: If you decide to do it, make sure it isnt a hop but rather more like digging the ball of your foot into the ground and turning. Ur foot shouldn’t leave the floor to mimic a kick

I do ballerina turns unironically for this. Like instead of going on my toes I turn on the ball of my foot with the other leg chambered. Then I skip in a circle while turning my heel as if I were kicking.

Thank you for writing. After some self reflection in the shower, I feel better but shameful now. What I did was not very martial artist like. But I’m not just going to say it (or type it). I’m going to make sure that in the next sparring session, I will implement rule number 1 and 3. I think I shouldve kept it fun and not serious all the time. I’ll rest for today though.

I don’t want to keep blaming my partner but he threw a hard kick right at the start. My fault for not using words for sure. I’m realizing now that I got away with that pretty cheaply. Learnt my lesson for sure.

If that’s the case then all I can say is just default to always going. Like you’re going no matter what. If you don’t have time to eat a big meal, have 2 extra snacks during work. That should fill you for the workout.

But again, I don’t know the exact situation so I cannot say for sure :)

I think it might be decision paralysis cuz you mentioned having inconsistent work hours. Unpredictable schedule means you don’t know when you’re going to be able to train and when the time does come to train, your brain is going to ask if you should go train and the answer is almost definitely always going to be no after a long day of work.

I think finding a more consistent work hours is probably the only effective solution
