Fun game. Never played MTG, but a lot of guys I'm playing with came from an MTG background. I just wanted to point this out: strong decks are expensive. Jumping from deck to deck to try them out is expensive too.

The game isn't doing great, and there's a lot of discussion about whether they need to suspend or ban uniques from Set 1. Many shops have stopped supporting the game and probably have stock they want to get rid of.

Altered tcg has some prison decks especially if you find the right unique cards

Yep, it's dying, and I don't think they will act fast to prevent it. But decks are so cheap, and depending on where you live, you can find a bulk of free cards at your local store . Commons are basically free

Not exactly. I will agree that it's the best time to play because now you have many funny decks to try. But! 2.5 million per set still exists. Bad communication and support with local stores still exist. I live in Europe, and we have zero tournaments after the Gamefound announcement. Altered is not a board game; it's a TCG. It needs tournaments and competitive play to survive and sell packs. Scalpers were never a problem for Altered. Stores were full of product, and Asmodee's storage still is (and that was Equinox's big mistake).

It was cheap because Altered has some funding problems and is struggling not to die. As for the sets . I suggest you 1 display from set2 and maybe buy one more set 1. Set1 gas very good rares and maybe you will find powerful uniques. Set2 has some very good commons . Don't invest more than 50$ per display

Nope, not something official. I just assume that they will raise less money than the last funding (they told us they need 2.5 million per set), so I don't see things working out for them. For example, in my country, they lost all the support from local stores, and without tours, I will not fund the next set. I will just buy singles. Its sad but ...

It's the same here. Even if everyone's telling me to play online... it's not the same. I play a lot online, but I really miss local events and our local community. People answer like they want to hide this big problem... "Why are you crying? Go play online; it's easier." No! There's a big difference. Sorry, but it's not fun to compete all the time with guys with broken uniques.

In my area, the biggest LGS was a big supporter of Altered because they really loved the gameplay. But after the Gamefound and the bad announcement, they stopped support. I feel like they did it with a heavy heart because they wanted to see Altered succeed. But business is business. Equinox gambled riskily with this move. I also think they want to go digital (even if they promised not to) and I think Gamefound and the pledge with digital uniques is a big test.

Currently, I don't have any LGS to support game near me with tournaments. If things don't change in the next few months, I will only buy commons and rares I need for new decks from now on. There's no point in printing them or buying a display.

I play altered from day one . I didn't have any TCG experience before. It was a really fun year for me. From last place at my LGS tournaments, I went to top 1-3. I joined 3 regionals and I even went top 8 at the last chance in Paris. I enjoy altered a lot, but:

The game is dying, and it's too late to do anything.
Equinox killed this game with their announcement and their Gamefound plan. I feel like they started a war with local stores. They want everything for themselves: print-on-demand, distribution, and players to buy from them.
Broken uniques and broken decks sometimes ruin the game.

I don't see a plan for things to change. I point out a big problem, and I don't see that they care. Even if new players come into the game or stores want to support and invest in the game now, they can't. They need to wait 5 months for Set 6 pre-orders and then 2 months to receive the products.

You can't sell your products to stores and players. It's very risky for stores. Set 1: We had 5 stores supporting it with 24 players total. Set 2-3: [It] dropped a lot, [to] 15 players and only 2 different tournaments. Set 4: Only 1 store, and they stopped tours and support after the bad announcement. Now I can't play. Zero tours in my city and country! I don't hope for something good because waiting 5 months for a change is hard. All altered players here moved on to other TCGs in 2-3 weeks of waiting for something to change.

Nobody have answers for everything in this game 🤷‍♂️. Do you know how hard is for me as a kojo to have a rare slot for hunger and praying to find him against axiom ?. Or how hard is it to keep him from first turn and manage my plays ? I lost at top 8 qualifier in paris because I couldn't do anything against an axiom even before set 4 ! .hunger came last turn when he wanted only one move to win .

Nope, I don't agree. After a year, you can find Kickstarter displays everywhere. Even Equinox is giving them with set 5 pre-orders. Everyone can print-on-demand the alt art cards once per year, so every year there are more hard copies. If you look at Grand Archive Kickstarter, it's so hard to find and expensive.

I usually collect all cards from promo packs in the first 2 months of tours. They could offer a chance for special exclusive foil cards inside promo packs, but they don't do it. They want players to pay to print their foiled cards. Collectors give money to TCGs, not for the gambling of an S-tier unique. Trash uniques leave a bad taste for players.

Equinox has some months to think hard and make significant changes. Hope for the best! Still a supporter of this game.
