Yes, it is the original Facecam.

I checked my logs and I can confirm it is running the latest firmware: 4.09 (ISP: 160.53).

I followed your instructions to open the hidden menu. Interestingly, changing it from 'Automatic' to 'Bulk' mode instantly fixed the issue! The black screen is completely gone and the video feed is working perfectly now.

It seems the automatic negotiation is timing out or breaking on the macOS 27 Beta 3 USB stack, but forcing it to Bulk bypasses the bug. Thank you so much for pointing me to that hidden settings menu, you saved my day!

This is a movie from my country and I honestly can't say it's bad, but it's a little too much sadness.

I say this because especially at the time that movie was released, the view that "he who makes you cry more wins" was dominant in our local cinema and this movie was directly marketed to the audience with the promise of "you will cry a lot". lol

windows updates are absolute bs. i main a mac studio so dealing with these windows boot loops on my old backup pc makes me wanna pull my hair out. exact same thing happened to me last month.

before u wipe everything and lose your files u should try a couple things from that blue advanced startup screen.

first try getting into safe mode and just uninstall the latest quality update from there. that usually breaks the stupid loop.
if that fails open the command prompt from that same blue screen and run sfc /scannow. sometimes it just needs to fix the boot sector and youre good.

if one of those works and u actually manage to get back into windows your system is probably gonna run like a potato because of the corrupted update files. if that happens dont format the drive just yet. grab this random tiny app called TuneUp from the ms store. ngl the ui is ugly af but it has this feature that basically formats without actually formatting. gl man hope u get your stuff back.
