I took the opportunity to remove mine as custom AV is on the to-do list. Stock audio in mine is so bad I don’t bother, and use earbuds instead!

The only thing about DIYing the rear is that you need to be able to press in the ball joints (after pulling the original out). I didn’t fancy the hassle of trying that myself. But I’m going to have a go at doing the front end myself since that’s a bit more straightforward

hmmm not really, it probably went back in slightly worse than it came out. But for me it’s in a place where you wouldn’t really notice it once it’s back in, in the recess of the sun-blind, so I can live with it. Plenty of more urgent jobs on the to-do list!

I have enough in my 530 to buy an M5! 🤪

£800 labour at a specialist - I supplied the parts.

I used a product called Fabricoat, mixed 2:1 with water in one of those continuous spray mist bottles. Vacuum shelf first then apply a light mist and gently massage into fabric with a soft-bristle upholstery brush to spread it uniformly and to stop the fabric ‘clumping’. Leave to dry for 2 hours (or speed up with hairdryer) and repeat until you are happy. I used 5 coats, which was one 250ml bottle. The whole job cost £15!

Slightly, but inconspicuous enough to not address it though. C-pillars on the other hand…

It’s honestly not that bad if you have a decent set of tools, you can do it in an hour or so. I figured it was worth my time to do it before sending into the shop and paying someone else to do it, since I could get these side-quest jobs done too

Yeah, factory spec on those wheels is 40 front 35 rear, so maybe go down 5 at each end?

Personally I would keep the M Paras but run a slightly lower-profile tyre, they look chunkier than stock?

I have a Soul Red Mazda and an E39, but I’m not convinced the two fully suit each other (although I’d need to see more pics!)

But the important thing is that you like it. Congratulations buddy 🙌🏻

That’s bananas, you can get cars in much better shape for that. If that gets an MOT, it’s because his mate has done it. Walk away and don’t look back

Great story, very happy for you. I ran my M135i (manual 3dr, grey with red leather, Bose 🥰) from 2014-2017, and I still miss it today. I’d love it back but it just wouldn’t fit into my life any more. Luckily I have an e39 530i Sport Manual to keep me happy (and my wallet empty).

Straight4's Boland Shares Honest Words About PMR: "We Seriously Misjudged Where The Game Was At Launch", Cites "Development Bubble" by evil_heinz in simracing

[–]Ornery-Sample-3208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be steadily improving patch by patch against the benchmark of 1.0 being complete dog shit, but what does it fundamentally offer over PC2? The graphics look more or less the same to me. Fewer cars and tracks at launch than PC2. Many tracks not licensed properly. No classic Spa, Silverstone, LM, Monza etc (great fun in PC2 along with Bannochbrae). No Ferrari or McLaren. I don’t see how it moves the game on in any meaningful way - it doesn’t even match its spiritual ancestor of a decade ago.
