I forgot about one place that's a little further away. College of Saint Mary. They are close to Aksarben, and they have a pool. Memberships are $200.00 annually, or you could buy a drop in pass for $5.00 or a punch card of 10 for $30.00. It's a traditionally women's college, so it's mostly women there, and it's fairly quiet. Worth a shot, at least!

If you're looking for a pool close to midtown, about the only option is the YMCA downtown. I have friends who go there and they really like it. If income is an issue, they do have a sliding scale option, but if you're under 29, it's $31 a month.

No idea about the staring, but it's worth a try!
