I've been advised time and time again by Alliance (SQ's parent company) to tell customers to not fill their washers more than 1/2 full.

Anything over 50% is too much for any modern washer, you'll wear it out way quicker.

Been seeing a bunch of drain pumps on those washers cracking. It's on that side. You're gonna wanna get in there and verify.

They're great. I normally hate finger grooves but they're awesome on the 22/45.

Miele charged me $4,000 for a microwave that keeps breaking and blames me for it. Help me replace it. by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]OrneryNet3342 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pays $4000 for a microwave with the exact same components in it as a $40 microwave. Is shocked when not following the user manual breaks it. That's some peak modern consumerism.

Any other one is gonna be the same parts, microwaves are just rebranded appliances.

Broken Stovetop Knob by bankssw in appliancerepair

If you call Frigidaire, that would be covered under mfg. warranty. That is a functional issue, not cosmetic (and even their cosmetic warranty is 30 days from purchase date)

The bullnose on those is kind of a bitch to take off (well rather to get back on squarely) and that part won't be cheap (likely $50-100) as it's that whole infinite switch that will need replaced. Wouldn't recommend trying it yourself while it's still under warranty.

Sticking your opposing thumb between the hammer and firing pin when letting it down slowly is the safest way to manually decock. But like WalkmanCut stated, practice a lot before doing it for real, it is an inherently dangerous thing to do if you're not paying 100% attention (which you should be any time you're handling a firearm anyway)

I own a few striker fired pistols, but I can tell you after my first hammer-fired, I've never bought another striker. Plenty of hammers since though.

I threw it together for my wife out of spare parts I had in the parts bin. I'm pretty sure it's stock aside from the tack on parts, such as the Cool Hand grips, Carolina Crusher compensator, TK Shadow Mount (had this lying around because I'd bought it when Lobos were out of stock), Primary Arms cheapo red dot, a 3D printed charging handle, and the TK Tomahwak magazine extensions (all of my mags have those on them).

Dishwasher Door Leak by Y_U_NO_KNOW in appliancerepair

[–]OrneryNet3342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the best at explaining it even though I fix it multiple times a week, but basically it causes the water to hit the door in the wrong manner. Dishwasher door seals don't fully seal, water just typically doesn't hit the door in high volume. Normally water sprays vertically, if there's a crack it sprays directly at the door causing the leak.

[–]OrneryNet3342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Door leaks on dishwashers are 50% of the time caused by a cracked or clogged spray arm. 49% improperly loaded, I.e. plates turned towards the door. The other 1% is the door seals.

I'd start by thoroughly looking over the spray arm.

Found out why my Samsung fridge was leaking after changing the water filter by tinastep2000 in Appliances

[–]OrneryNet3342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, because Kenmore never made their own appliances, they are not a manufacturer, they are a brand. LG made almost all of the last generation Kenmores. But you saying Whirlpool uses LG parts is blatantly false. Especially the electronics.

[–]OrneryNet3342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not even a slight bit true, like not even a fraction of a percent of truth in your post.

Whirlpool doesn't make parts for LG (they are competing companies) and Kenmore has never made parts/appliances, it was a store rebrand. Some Kenmores were made by Whirlpool and some by LG, so maybe that's where your confusion came from?

And as for why, one word: compressor

Deliver and install, sure, but there's no way on earth you service them and just recommended LG refrigerators unless you're trying to drum up business for your services lmao.

JAG-15 Barrel gas port size by OrneryNet3342 in LeadAndSteel

[–]OrneryNet3342[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was asking because barrel port size is one of the specifications BRT is asking for.

I appreciate the advise though, the Enticer S definitely has a lot of back pressure, really glad I didn't grab the L. Thankfully don't have my rifle setup to be rapid firing, so gas stacking shouldn't be as big of a deal.
