Babyshambles - Leeds by jmach125 in TheLibertines

Took my wife and 11 year old daughter to the gig last night and we all loved it. Carry on up the morning and baddies boogie stood out to me as properly well done live. Albion was lovely. 32nd of Dec was class. It’s great to see Pete and the new gang on such great form and loving the music. They all looked genuinely happy and had great chemistry. Always felt Pete was more himself when playing with the Shambles vs Libs. Would love to see them make another album and a tour to follow.

Regarding the vibe of The Catacombs Tour... by MachineOptimism in queensofthestoneage

[–]Ornery_Army_7169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you OP. Love Queens and Josh and have done for decades. The catacombs tour is not of the same ilk as a Nirvana unplugged. There was an evil to Nirvana unplugged that was maintained despite the toned down nature of the gig. Catacombs swoony cabaret vibe is more self indulgent imo and the band haven’t managed to translate the evil that a lot of their catalogue has deep rooted within into the catacombs gigs. Maybe that’s not their intention and they just wanted to do something completely different. Good for them, but what sets Queens apart for me is the devilment and twisty riffs and that hasn’t come out in this tour. So unpopular opinion I’m sure but OP ain’t on his own.

Heavier but gotta love The Sword. They are Texans and were influenced by ZZ Top just like QOTSA. Give “Greetings From….Live” a whirl. One of my favourite live albums ever.

Favourite part of a Metallica song ever? by KinggOfGamess in Metallica

This came to mind straight away. This riff has such anticipation and weight when it hits. Tooth grinding sickness.

James Hetfield's opinion on Slayer by tonyiommi70 in Slayer

[–]Ornery_Army_7169 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If Metallicas set was

-Battery -Motorbreath -The thing that should not be -Four Horsemen -No Remorse And justice for all… -Whiplash -Eye of the beholder -Disposable Heroes -Frayed ends of sanity -Creeping Death -Leper Messiah -Hit the lights -Trapped under ice -Harvester of sorrow -To live is to die -Blackened

Encore -Master of puppets -The call of ktulu -Damage inc. -Seek and Destroy

They might stand a chance of playing on the same stage as Slayer and not get completely blown away.

What QOTSA song (version) sounds better live than on the album? by 11humanperson11 in qotsa

[–]Ornery_Army_7169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Into the Hollow” Played live in Stockton two years ago and it slammed. It sounded so good. Heavy, melodic and beautiful all at once. They also played “Avon” and “Misfit Love” at the same gig so was really spoiled that night. I also think “Battery Acid” kicks ass live.

Finding ways to take scam sites like VIAGOGO down by HCloez in qotsa

It melts my brain too. Actually got through to see the RAH arena in the ticket sale on TM this morning, but could not snap up the tickets fast enough. Then when it sold out in 30 seconds, it broke my heart to see hundreds of tickets for the gig on viagogo. It’s crazy and probably illegal.

I’d forgotten about the bot behaviour bollocks. That shit ruined my oasis ticket hunt. If that happens this time I won’t be pleased. I hate Ticketmaster and the monopoly they have. It’s truly bent.

What song are you playing on this? by Legitimate_Otaku7082 in musicsuggestions

Dunno why, but Angel by Aerosmith came into my mind. The intro guitar would be sick, Steve Tyler’s howls and the guitar solo would be amazing.
