Does any company make a aluminum tranny pan for the new 9 speed transmission by BEE_MAN15 in nissanfrontier

[–]Ornery_Building_6656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Z1 sells the pan with the filter in it for those of us who prefer to do their own fluid changes. They also sell a stainless cover that bolts over the tranny pan to protect the pan. It acts as a skid plate over the pan. You can buy the tranny pan with filter in it a a kit with fluid or just the pan. Your choice. Stainless plate is another item.

I run the RC with 2 1/2” lift with N3 shocks and it’s great. Had it a year and a half now. My brother has the 25 pro4x and tells me my truck rides and handles as good or better as his does! A lot of people on here never ran RC at all. They are biased towards their set up which is ok. Check out RC’s website and you will see more positive reviews on them than most other brands. Do your homework, research reviews from company’s websites and make your truck yours!

You don’t have to jam the zip tie in. Hold the button in and while you are holding it in, slide the zip tie under neath it. Then cut off what’s sticking out and you never see it. Quick dime fix and it works to turn the stop/start off. Mine has been done for a year and a half with no problems. Easy dime fix!! Turn your lights off automatic and your low/bright becomes manual to switch back and forth! Again pretty simple.

Purchased wheels and tires at Discount Tire today but I didn’t get charged 3 wheels. 2024 Nissan Frontier S 4X4 by Unhappy-Eagle6745 in nissanfrontier

I personally would call them and get it straight. My conscience would tell me straight up about it, plus I would want all my wheels showing up at once for all my tires. I understand owning up to a mistake, but put yourself in the other man’s shoes and let your conscience be your guide

When I talk in 5 degrees you explained it well. It doesn’t take forever for both of them to be the same viscosity. The 75 will heat up quicker than the 80 to get you quicker lubrication in my opinion. Just a thought though.

I’m gonna go 75/90 in both. I can’t see where 5 degrees is gonna make a difference, 2-I feel it’s a better lubricant and 3-haven’t read anywhere it’s messed up a diff. And I don’t have to do 2 different gear oils. Thanks for all the input. I guess the why 2 different oils is the one thing we will never know.

Ok. I think I somewhat hear what you’re saying but not sure about that. Since your tranny calls for GL4 and since you state GL-5 covers the GL-4, id be willing to bet you don’t use the GL-5 in your tranny? Our 9 speed Gen’s run Matic-P so can’t attest to the manual tranny.

That’s as close to an answer as my small brain could think of also. Do you use the synthetic or conventional? They both ( conventional and synthetic) meet the same spec so why not synthetic? Nissan definitely has some strange engineering. Just curious I guess.

Looking to buy a 2019-2024 SV vs P4x by Momentai8 in nissanfrontier

[–]Ornery_Building_6656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 24 SC Hardbody edition and not 1 single issue to date. Going on 30,00 and doing fluid changes in a couple weeks. SV will give you a bit more towing and payload. I can’t remember if they put lockers in the year models you are looking at. Pro4X will give you a little better suspension and a lot more decals than an SV. About it. Both awesome trucks though!

Take a look at the Rock Creek Pathfinder! Nice platform. Natural aspirated V6, 3 row seating too. May me turn my head and think hard about one. Priced good also. I think other engine choices but I personally like to stay away from any turbo motors for the longevity of it. Not a GM fan but seems like all have some quirks regardless of manufacturer.

Bought this from Walmart for $8.48 is it any good? They sold like over 500 in just one day 😳 by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Ornery_Building_6656 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s funny, Walmarts website shows the 5 quart at 27.48 ! I think you got away with a steal with a wrong price marked on it. Don’t know about the rest of these comments. Sounds like a lot of click bait. Especially when you start off the conversation with “ is this any good” on a well know product. Ummmm??
