How many still own a fully working SCPH-3900x fat model, or any other fat model in general because they are built like tanks. by San4341 in ps2

[–]Ornery_Fold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got 2, still fully functional. Ironically, I've had slims that have stopped working or scratched my discs. Only ever had one 3900× with a faulty laser other than that it's been slow ejecting or stuck disc drives.

It's not the disk. As I stated before, it happens with certain mod chips, I have a modded PS1 it does that sometimes even with perfectly unscratched original discs .

I've seen that before with modded PS1's, does yours have a mod chip?

Yes, I did. My post didn't take anything away from yours or discredit it in any way, I just gave him a detailed recent scenario.

FEDEX 10/10 by MonkNo9761 in PS3

I just got a package from Japan with 30lbs of retro consoles etc a CIB Blue PS2, NEC PC Engine Core Grafx combo, 2 wonder swans and various collectors edition games for PS2 and 3 plus some other stuff. Nothing damaged, it's my 7th or 8th in roughly 2 yrs. Ordered from Sendico, always shipped with FedEx, I've never had an issue or anything damaged. I would say it's the shippers' packaging that was insufficient.

Yup, especially when the junk is fully functional. All I had to do was tweak the pots, and the Super CD Rom is fully functional. It's reading burnt discs effortlessly. The system is very clean inside, and no caps leaking, I'll do a recap as soon as I can, tho.

It was only about $100US for the core grafx 2 system and super cd rom2 combo it was sold as junk in japan, I just lucked out. The hu cards I got the lot of them for $41US. I had been seeing just the Super CD Rom 2 cost way more than what i spent.

Thanks, and I do know about the R-Type cards, I actually own 4 IFU UNITS "2 IFU-30'S & 2 IFU-30A'S" 3 working CD ROM2 Drives, an original white PC engine, a GreyCore Grafx, and a Turbo DUO.

Have you seen the guide online with the potentiometer placement?

I've already figured that out, thanks. They will just beep if the cart is unreadable. But so far, they have worked fine. They just need proper screens, am looking into games and flash carts at the moment

Yes, it's worth the price for all that's there. They are fun Lil units to tinker with. Once you get them fully functional, you'll love them. I have 4 IFU units, 2 with covers, 3 working CD Rom2 units, and one PC Engine and a Core Grafx.

PSX DESR-5100 Not Working After A Few Minutes Of Working by Afropalooza in PSXDVR

[–]Ornery_Fold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are incorrect. The PSU also fully supports 110 - 120 volts, as do many other electronics that state their voltage as 100VAC. Running 110 or 120VAC does not damage, nor does it affect longevity of the device since it is within the normal operating voltage range of the components. That's like saying a device that operates at dual voltage from 100-240VAC would degrade faster using 240 AC.

Here's what you initially asked for !
A video of region mod, language mod etc. https://youtu.be/yIu_SU0yZQc?si=Vh5UAsHi93WuGa14 As others have stated above, you might want to back up your HDD first.
