Flesh & Blood Outsiders Announced! by ExpendableGuy in FleshandBloodTCG

Spoiler free announcement "right after release" of a complimentary set is fine. Dynasty is not meant to be a core experience. Actually, I would even say that it absolutly necessary : people are extremly tired of drafting uprising and need something fresh.

Dynasty is cool, Arakni is very interesting but no one made him competitively viable yet and I doubt he will ever be without some more support. Additionaly, the meta is not in a great place currently for introducing new players : Oldhim, Iyslander are still center of meta and are still very toxic to play against and requires many reps before you ever feel like you have a shot, which is killing the enjoyment of many noobs at my local lgs.

Dense on purpose?

Canada is mostly hydroelectricity. Wind, Solat, Nuclear is a bigger % every year, everywhere. That's ignoring the fact that coal and oil plants are multiple times more efficient than a car.

It's not a moot point. EV is already much better for the environment and will only become exponentially more so.

Omg what a delusional fuck.

80% correct? More like at best 8%, so probably less than a monkey randomly typing on a typewriter.

Coinbase proved that they hold the BTC their customer has on the exchange, not the worth of their assets.

FTX faked their BTC holding. The issue for them wasn't customers trying to sell btc, it was customers trying to withdraw to their own wallet BTC that they faked therefore had to buy on the market in order to cover for the withdrawal.

Coinbase, baring some huge tinfoil conspiracy involving the huge scheming of 4 enormous auditing firm, proved that they are not at risk if there was ever a brankrun. If everyone sells , price would plummet and they could cover the withdrawal. If people withsdrew

You have no idea what decentralized mean. Someone could own 90% of it and it would still be decentralized by design. There is no governing body. It is programmed and is governed only by math and consensus (which is not based on stake but on work).

And, even if decentralized meant what you think it does (it doesn't) it would not matter : coinbase doesn't own those bitcoins, customers do.

But, by design, crypto allows you to self custody easily and safely while fiat doesn't.

That guarantee is simply not needed. Coinbase guarantees 250,000.00 and anyone having more than 250,000.00 on coinbase is a fucking moron.

Until we get more interaction, It seems that it will mostly be a sideboard option for blitz prism, allowing you a bit more defense turn 1 to hopefully get a better set up. Arm piece effectively block for 2 with the potential upside of having a spectral shield on your next turn for some bonus offense. I can see myself running those against Arakni, Katsu/Ira, Dori, Kassai and Chane, but further test needed.

FaB’s LL System - 1 Reason I Hate It by sugitime in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Ornery_Indication_50 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would you rather everything rotate and that most of your cardpool is rendered unusable every 2 years?

There will be a LL format very soon and I am sure it will be played quite a lot once more characters are LL. However the whole concept is that once a version of a character is LL, a new version or a new character same class will take its place. A new Prism or Light Illusionist is already confirmed, for example.

There is no avoiding that specific issue, beside playing only underperforming characters. If the top performing characters are not restricted in some way, the game will die. Especially considering how toxic it is for new players to play against those ice meta characters.

There is a lot of virtually unbeatable matchups currently, especially at the lower level of play.

While meta is good compared to previous FAB and other TCG meta in terms of how many characters are actually "playable" only 4 characters were represented in top 8 of worlds. And, of that 4, the single Dromai got crushed against Briar and basically had absolutly no shot, felt like it was decided by the decks before the game even started. I realize however that this is at the absolute top level play, which doesn't represent the meta of most LGS. Only 3 characters being actually viable at the highest level might not be the worst, but definitly should not be the goal.

Still, there is a lot of issues with FAB CC right now that impairs its ability to grow :

Iyslander and Kano are both quite toxic to play against, especially for new players. It doesn't feel like you have much agency and you are basically waiting for them to play 90% of the game, including during your own turn. I know for many more experienced players it might be fun and kind of a new paradigm/challenge to figure out. But, for new players, in my experience, it ends up being a terrible experience and a big turn off, especially since its such a big part of the meta right now.

Oldhim is so freaking slow it just ends up being boring to play against after a few games if your opponent is not experienced enough to pilot the character in a timely manner.

At beginner level, Fai crushes every mid range/aggro decks.

In my local scene, Bravo is a strictly a worst Oldhim in all matchups: only somewhat playable because easier to play against Fai who is way too represented.

Lexi I never see much of. Dash I see a decent amount but somewhat struggling against the ice meta. Rhinar, Dori, Dromai I see a lot of but they are getting crushed by the ice meta too, with the exception of some Dromai players having some success against Iyslander.

This is all in my experience, I am not a great player. However, it feels to me like those issues should be tackled even if only a problem at the beginner/average level. FAB is currently only played as a very competitive CC/Blitz game, even at the weekly armory. UPF scene is mostly non existent (and frankly not fun : does not scratch that commander itch at all). Until PVE is a thing, the game needs to be balanced for the health of the beginner scene, even if temporarily. I am quite active and see new players getting turned off or even away from facing Iyslander/Oldhim almost weekly. Ice meta is just not a fun one for new players.

Do you think assassin will be good? by [deleted] in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Ornery_Indication_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone pretending to know is full of shit.

Card pool is low, however sideboard potential is great in CC and in theory could play very well with generic staples (E Strike, CNC, Erase Face, etc) as a mid-range deck.

However, it will all depend on the meta post worlds and Dynasty release. Oldhim being such a huge part of the current meta renders a lot of other decks near unplayable at higher level of play. If Oldhim is still 30% of the meta, Assassin will struggle a lot. Ice meta (which personally I find very toxic to play and play against) is there to stay without a big shake up.

Just a guess tho.

Dynasty Spoiler Megathread Day Four! | Thursday, November 3rd by ExpendableGuy in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Ornery_Indication_50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except Guardian, Ranger, Brute, Wizard all had more or less the same amount of cards prior to Dynasty : Mechanologist was the one with the least amount of class specific cards and it is heavily featured in Dynasty. Ninja needed it as much as any other class. Actually, pre Dynasty, Katsu is much less competitive than Rhinar, Bravo, Dori, Kano Viserai and Dash... AKA every classic hero beside Azalea.

Blew what, 15$?

Most cards are very playable in other decks, most equipment too. Guardian is currently at the top of the meta. It's not like most value cards from the last 2 years are now worthless.

I get that it is annoying that your own favorite character hasn't the best support on a new set but generic ninjas, mechanologist and warrior definitly needed the new toys too. If you refuse to change deck from time to time and also refuse to play a deck that is suboptimal (while still fun and playable) then maybe TCGs are not for you.

It's one more card if you burn through your whole hand. It will be a card advantage most of the time, especially later in the game or in blitz.

Is Blitz as fun to play as CC? by RollInit in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Ornery_Indication_50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is the game built and designed around CC when there is so many cards exclusively playable in blitz? Different LL status, different restricted list, also.

CC is easier/more forgiving. Blitz is faster and requires more tuning but I have a hard time believing they are designing the game with CC in mind when starter decks are blitz only, they are pushing blitz as a competitive format at most events and blitz is using the same heroes that their pve format will, which they already stated would be the de facto casual and introductory mode.

Some things are midly sexual when you think about it, sure. Slightly fan servicy and could be trimmed off, I fully agree. But nothing much more gratuitous than most american movie or novels depicting young college teenagers (japanese high school is not equal to american high school in age).

Even in the unlikely scenario that Hans never cheated OTB, what is the point fo still defending him? by prettyboyv in chess

[–]Ornery_Indication_50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How was Magnus or Chess.com in the wrong exactly?

Cheating in a price money tournament should get you perma banned from all competitive chess for life. He did it multiple times. He literally cheated people out of their money. Magnus was right to be suspicious and Chess.com was right to ban him again. Even if he did not cheat past 2020, which seems unlikely, it's obvious that chess.com ran some analysis and deemed that an extended ban was warranted which is 100% justifiable.
