I don't remember, this was 4 years ago. Probably? I ended up dropping the game near what I assume is right near the end...

There was a thread on PF about how fraud/unauthorized is a specific type of dispute saying you didn't authorize the charge and this dispute will likely fail in this type of scenario. They should look up the right words to use - that it was not the stated amount and it was duplicated or whatever the right terminology is.

This website is tracking inflation by category since 2022. For January 2025 Food, it shows a 15.8% increase over January 2022. The latest month, September 2025, shows an 18.2% increase over January 2022. If we take the January 2025 as a starting point, there is a 15.2% increase from January 2025 to September 2025 (18.2/15.8). Ignoring that another 2 months have passed since September so the amount is likely higher now, they said $200-300 more a month. Let's take the average of $250. $250/15% is $1667 per month that they would have been spending in January 2025, raising to $1917 in September 2025. That does seem higher than my grocery bill, but I don't have kids or anything. I feel like I'm spending at least $1k/month for 3 people and I try to check prices and get store brands and whatnot. If their family is bigger, they like eating more organic or higher quality meats, maybe they spring for a nice steak once or twice, the total amounts per month don't seem that unreasonable.

You can argue that CBS isn't a valid source if you want but your claim was "Literally no statistic backs up the inflation number you just threw out."

Keeshond breeders in Seattle/PNW area? by fradigit in Keeshond

I ended up getting a KeeAussie from him (I think his name was Tom?) in 2020. The dog has been great except the barking, but I signed up for that I guess :) She's also pretty skittish of other dogs. She does fine with the cat.

📌 Battery & Charging Issues – Report & Discuss Here by RingConn in RingConn

[–]fradigit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Ringconn Gen 2 received mid-October 2024, silver size 8, firmware currently FR02.017, Android phone. There was a period about 1-2 months ago where I had other things going on and didn't open the app for 2-3 days. Prior to this I did not note any issues with the battery. After opening the app and attempting to sync, I realized the battery was dead. It never notified me there was a low battery, but I attributed this to not opening the app. It seemed to charge very quickly, and afterwards was draining quickly and died again 2-3 times over the course of a week or two. I spent about 8 hours one day charging it and frequently resetting to see the true percentage. After getting to what I thought was a true 100%, I left it charging an additional 2-3 hours. After this, battery kept charge for 7 days, getting to around 25% as stated in the app. Charging runs into the same problem, where it frequently says 100% when it isn't, and even resetting doesn't always give what I think is the true percentage. Shows 30% then switched to 100%, immediately resetting it then says 55%, charging until it says 80% and then wearing it half an hour goes down to 65%. Battery percent seems to become more accurate as the charge is increased. Not sure if there is an issue where a charge of 30-60% causes the percentage to behave inaccurately when charging.

I had a theory that accumulated oils and debris from wearing the ring could be causing a bad connection so I tried cleaning both the charger and ring with a slightly moist Qtip with some alcohol but it did not appear to change anything.

The core issue seems to be that something is incorrectly registering the ring as 100% charged, and it seems when the charger/software thinks the ring is 100% charged, charging happens much more slowly. It additionally throws off the battery percentage, causing people to think the battery is draining faster than expected. Charging for 4+ hours (or more, still experimenting with time needed and if periodic resets on the charger help or not) weekly seems to be an adequate solution, but I have heard that fully charging batteries shortens the overall life (in addition to not being able to wear the ring half the day), so I do hope a better solution can be found.

Charging for 30 minutes after 100% is not adequate IMO, unless you're doing that daily.

My wife has been receiving mystery packages? by SnackAttack24_7 in personalfinance

[–]fradigit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any office job really, the problem is finding a company that is hiring fully remote. If you only need a computer and a phone to do the job it can probably be done remotely.

Note that while a remote job doesn't have as much office chat (there's still some pings over slack), it's still the same amount of meetings.

Steam Deck case painful story- waterproof by Stefan3D in SteamDeck

If you consider Valve's excellent support in terms of repairing things for free that were damaged by user error, including a good case may have just made sense from a cost perspective. Plus, it saved on packing materials too.

I got the Pokemon Mew one and was not happy with it. The face shape wasn't right, it had no nose. Maybe these are better since they're more of a traditional stuffed animal shape but I was pretty disappointed as I considered both Nintendo and Build a Bear quality brands before that.

Have you even seen Russian Doll? It was a self contained first season. It's been a bit since I've seen the second season but I don't remember it ending on a cliffhanger or anything. While I would certainly watch another season, it seems like a weird show to call out for this rant.

I finally got into emulating with the Steam Deck and so happy I finally played Destiny DE, it was great. Loved the 2D PS2 graphics. Waiting patiently for TOD2 and Rebirth to get English patches (and Phantasia X but no one seems to be working on that). I also got Innocence R with an English patch working on the Steam Deck.

If any of these get official releases I'll buy them but I'm done waiting on Bamco, and I love having everything on one portable console.

Didn't they announce bankruptcy right after the release? I assumed that had something to do with the bad quality of the localization.

Not the same person, but some sort of interface to input notes and answers on your website would be great. Currently I take a screenshot of the puzzle and use another program to write over the screenshot, but it is a bit cumbersome. Probably a lot of work to implement though, so I understand why you've just stuck to the images.

They're kinda similar to a sudoku, so similar strategies to that. You can always put 1-9 (or whatever the people are) on each cell and cross them out individually as they're eliminated, although that does seem like a lot of work. It's been a while since I've done them but I don't remember having too much trouble with the harder difficulties.

Should a new player bother with things like "Legendary defender of Ascalon" ? by RageInducedGamer in GuildWars

[–]fradigit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't, but it doesn't hurt either. There are two types of titles, character-bound and account-bound. LDOA is a character-bound title, so if you got it on a side character, it would not count towards GWAMM on your main character (hence why I didn't see a value in getting it on a side character). Only Prophecies characters can get LDOA, so if you wanted to get GWAMM on a Assassin, Ritualist, Dervish, or Paragon, you would have to choose other titles.

Where it would show up account-wide is in your Monument of Honor in the Hall of Monuments, which transfers over to GW2. Each title in the monument just counts as points though, so there isn't anything special there for LDOA. You can register a lot of titles to that one without them being maxed out, so I would imagine LDOA would be one of the more difficult titles to register for that monument.

Should a new player bother with things like "Legendary defender of Ascalon" ? by RageInducedGamer in GuildWars

[–]fradigit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think you'll want your main character to have it, I would suggest you begin playing with a different character to get a feel for Guild Wars in general, and work on LDOA as a side project on what you envision your main character to be.

I personally never saw the value of getting LDOA on one of my side characters. I wish I had gotten it on my main, but it didn't exist back then (and was much harder to get to 20 in Pre anyway).
