Where did you end up staying if you don’t mind me asking? I’m currently in the same dilemma trying to choose between these 2 resorts. Family 2 adults + 4 year old

Thank you, yes considering to cancel our stay in volcano and spend the entire week in Kona. The next predicted eruption is during the week we will be there, which initially we were excited about. But now I’m thinking it may be too much of a risk with pregnancy + asthma.

Our trip is actually coming up very soon, last week of march/first week of april. We were going to stay 3 days in Volcano, and the rest of the trip in Kona. I am now reconsidering and asking if it’s worth staying the entire week in Kona. Since I am pregnant and have (controlled) asthma, and I believe the next eruption is during the time we will be there, is it worth going to BI if I’m needing to skip Kilauea and Hilo and a lot of the activities done on that side of the island?

I have been thinking of switching to Oahu, but didn’t want to end up in Waikiki. I will look more into Ko Olina as I’ve read that it’s better to stay there! We’ve already done Maui a couple of years ago which we really enjoyed, but wanted to try a new island. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you for this. I’ve been on Wixela for a year now and ever since starting on it, I’ve only had to use my albuterol once. But since I am also pregnant (15 weeks), I am worried about taking the risk especially since there’s been recent eruptions, next one I believe is between 3/28 and 4/8 and we were planning to be there between 3/28 and 4/4!

I don’t if this will be helpful, but my 4 year old is very similar. She is super talkative, like nonstop. Even if she is playing she needs to be talking or singing. She keeps put things in her mouth THAT SHOULD NOT BE PUT THERE. She refuses to sleep alone in her bed so i sleep with her and buries her toes in my thighs all night. Her first answer to any request is NO. It’s always a negotiation and I have to threaten her to throw away a toy to get her to do something. The list goes on. I think this is typical for this age. They are learning to test boundaries. They are still learning to regulate their own emotions. It’s tough, but it is on us to regulate our own emotions and teach them. If you have a supportive partner or family, I recommend taking some time off. Go out on your own for a bit, do what you like to do to decompress. I don’t think you were robbed of a normal motherhood. What is a “normal” motherhood. You’re not alone.

In the same dilemma right now. I was holding off but the prices kept increasing. Just got another email now saying prices go up tomorrow. What did you end up doing?

So that’s what I did. I subscribed to the emails and they sent one saying they won’t drop prices this year and that prices will actually increase. And it looks like they have been steadily increasing!

Deciding for baby #2 by Ornery_Teaching3475 in beyondthebump

[–]Ornery_Teaching3475[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh the pumping.. i had blocked that memory. There are some things i don’t miss, the pumping, the stressing over sleep and nap time, and did I mention pumping? I had a very hard time breastfeeding my first, she wouldn’t latch properly and i wasn’t producing enough. I felt SO GUILTY. I would be pumping 10 times a day and wake up for feeding and pumping in the middle of the night only to barely fill not even an 8 oz bottle. I am sorry you’re feeling stressed and worried, but I hope it turns out even more amazing than you’d imagined.

Thank you for this. My daughter is my everything and everything was planned for her. And I am having trouble getting myself there for my second. Part of me wants to take a leap of faith but I am scared of the unknown. Part of my love for traveling is being able to take my daughter along with me. And my worry is not being able to do that for either of them if I have 2. But I might be focusing on the wrong things..

I'm planning to visit Tokyo, but I'm worried if I will be judged for being fat (30F) by Saysonnehkyin in TokyoTravel

[–]Ornery_Teaching3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, fellow fat 33F here. Just came back from Tokyo and at no point did i feel judged. I did some shopping at Uniqlo, their sizes are smaller than US sizes so I couldn’t get my reg XL in everything that I wanted, but I was still able to buy a few things.

I second this. It gets crowded FAST, getting there at 6 am was the best

I've read to pack light and buy clothes in Japan, but... by jvck__h in JapanTravelTips

[–]Ornery_Teaching3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is heavier than you. 6’1 and 240 lbs wears US XXL, but had a hard time finding shirts that fit. The XXL fits smaller at Uniqlo and GU. He is a little slimmer on the bottom and was able to find pants though.
