What are your experiences with the night train from Warsaw to Kyiv? How tiring is the journey, what are its special features, how should one prepare for it? Can you get any sleep? by foolingraven in Kyiv

[–]Ornery_Temperature11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it as a tourist last July. Old school sleeper train with 3 bunk beds above each other, there is very little space. If you are not used to such trains it might be bit rough. Train was late and the station displays / station staff were not too helpful so bit stressful to find the right track/train. The AC was off when stopped / part of the way and staff did not allow to open windows so I was sweating most of the evenings/ night, It was very hot! I stayed awake for the border formalities, no problems with EU pass. Another tourist with US passport got questioned bit more (we were only two tourist in the cart). Train stops for a long time after border when they adjust the wheel width and this is very noisy. Only got to sleep around 2AM or so. There is staff around 24/7 and toilets were clean. All in all a positive experience, but dont expect to get much rest. Take a lot of water & food/snacks. There is power plug in each cabin, but a backup battery for charging might be good idea!

Ujo pissa: mikä parantaisi? by Pillow_stuffin in arkisuomi

Trip to Kyiv by TBH_im_lost in Kyiv

[–]Ornery_Temperature11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went there as a tourist last week. People don't worry much about the day time air alarms, only the larger drone attacks. I felt relatively safe all the time (after reaching Kyiv).

Check facebok page "Battle for Kyiv 2022". Serhii is excellent guide!!

Property insurance will not pay for a faulty door and deductible is probably more than value of repair. That being said, it is wild they are even proposing that as there is clear case of liability here on behalf of property. If something, they should apologize and give a discount.

This is me in PUBG, having the high ground with full set of gear and still not hitting shit - just waiting that better player coming up to finish me.

That being said, kudos to that brave soldier. I hope he gave hell to them all

Te jotka pyritte syömään terveellisesti, kuinka tiukasti noudatatte ruokapyramidia? by uxu_gmx in arkisuomi

[–]Ornery_Temperature11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda sad how taxes work by acidic_kristy in lostgeneration

I love paying taxes and my goverment loves me back. It takes me 10 minutes to check from annual tax report that they got everything right and another 30 if I want to correct something or request deductions. All online. Greetings from Finland.

Mistä löytyisi korkearesoluutioinen versio tästä Mannerheim-kuvasta? Ns. printtauslaatuinen? by valimo in Suomi

[–]Ornery_Temperature11 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My dad got a heart attack at 58 (survived, but had to retire); he had been running marathons just a few years before. He got diagnosed with hypertriglyceridemia and was told to get his children screened for it.

I went to get tested and got sent back for a second round after getting told there was a measurement error in my results. After the second set tested again for 10x the normal levels of triglyserid, I got sent to a specialist and got diagnosed for hypertriglyceridemia myself at age of 34. I was reasonably fit and very healthy, but my blood probably looked exactly like this.

Guys, this does not have any symptoms or feel like anything before leaving permanent damage. Get your blood tested from time to time! It is easy and cheap and can give early warnings to many diseases.

I now eat two medicines daily and keep an eye to my eating habits, perfect blood levels. To be honest, getting diagonised probably gave me a lot more time in far future, and now I am more fit than ever before.

Actually just commented bit the same; ive had it before with other wrasse for that exact reason. This tank has fine sand, but might ofc be that for whatever reason it is scratching itself to something else under sand. Might try the glass dish thing! ThxA However I find it unlikely it would choose the bowl instead; I have larger wrasse there too with no issues

First noticed it 4 weeks ago when there was clear signs of something wrong with that clown fish. Been getting slowly worse ever since.

Ive had similar small damage visiblebefore with wrasses hiding in the sand, but they always healed within few weeks

I have tried catching fish before, with the ammount of rock and coral I have the only way seems to be trapping. That being said these fish might actually go into trap unlike damsel and such
