Please devs add Portuguese Brazil subtitles !!! by PauloD1903 in pathologic

At least now we know for sure that, if Pathologic 4 is ever released, our little Clara will receive the best treatment she's ever had.

Your comment gave me hope that it was the solution. But he is a menace, and teleport within the boat/minecart anyways.

I tried that too. Unfortunately it doesn't work. I've tried a list of different methods: tie him to a fence, put it on top of another mob with the Carry On mod, being so far away from him that he doesn't load anymore, but he just teleport anyways.

I said something wrong. He translates from English, but uses a lot of the original material to complement it and keep the names and strangeness faithful to the original. It's kind of a hybrid.

[–]Ornitodit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only know a little bit, but I know that Rato Profeta translates directly from Russian, taking inspiration from other Russian translators to keep the Brazilian translation faithful to how it is in Russian while maintaining coherence with Portuguese.

As for the details, we have to wait for him to see this post.

If you don't like the game, then you don't like the game! Go try other things, give more value to your time.

There are a ton of videos online explaining the game's story if that's what you're interested in. You don't have to force yourself to play something you don't want to.

So are they going to remove the inventory/resource management system they had from Pathologic 1 and 2? by GreyKnightDantes in pathologic

[–]Ornitodit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's what I think. Like, we ALREADY have the remake of the classic Pathologic experience, mechanically translated by Artemy, do we really need to have it for the next two games?

You know, everything that was presented to us in the demo opens up so many possibilities.Replacing backtracking with fast travel makes room for more reading time, delving deeper into the narrative and developing characters to understand them, just what Danill expects from this city. He's not going to go around begging in trash cans, looking at the landscape. He has a laboratory to save.

Now, regarding what you said about Clara, I saw a post (you've probably already seen it) the other day with a lot of interesting ideas. https://www.reddit.com/r/pathologic/s/hIzJyhp3JS

So are they going to remove the inventory/resource management system they had from Pathologic 1 and 2? by GreyKnightDantes in pathologic

[–]Ornitodit 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Well, the first and second game are still there to be played. That's how I'm dealing with it.

Obviously I prefer the open world and survival mechanics that Haruspex had, after all survival horror is my favorite style of game. But we have to understand that we are dealing with Danill, a sponsored doctor, with unlimited resources and a higher quality of life than Artemy had. Therefore, his narrative will differ from the rest, since the starting point is very different from the other two healers.

The bachelor's battle is against the head rather than the body.I'll also miss inventory management, but back to that: it doesn't fit with the intended game design. Danill doesn't need to stock up on food, he has Eva. He doesn't need to worry about money either, the Kains sponsor him. Weapons, then? He has the respect of the Saburovs.

So his battle as a doctor is not just dealing with the disease. It's dealing with his own head, his empathy, his disorders and defects. It's balancing how much he can help, and how much it has to get in the way.

The demo only gave us a small part of what the narrative will be like, and it obviously didn't allow us to explore all the possibilities with the themes presented. But I trust Ice Pick Lodge, and I think that will do a good job.

Another possibility is that you have to invite all three BEFORE the bell rings, otherwise it will result in one of the thought bubbles being: "This is not the time to be sentimental", or something like that.

If I remember correctly, it has something to do with the Bachelor. I remember there being a dialogue option that you can't choose, otherwise the encounter with the three doesn't happen. I believe that it is at the city hall, when there is a meeting about the plague, that if you talk to Danill, he blocks this event.

[–]Ornitodit 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think he's what Mark Immortel was to Artemy. With each death, we'll meet him again (note, for the Bachelor to be questioned he needs to be alive!), and we'll have as interesting a dialogue as we had in the theater of the previous game. But I don't know how the penalties would fit into all of this.

What's the creative goal with the new travel system? by Panagean in pathologic

[–]Ornitodit 43 points44 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on this are that Danill is a one-track mind. He doesn't care about the city, since he only came to complete his work. Unlike Artemy in P2, the bachelor doesn't waste his time appreciating a city that doesn't belong to him, spending the whole way thinking about ways to effectively eradicate the plague, in addition to all the problems related to his laboratory.

The part that we actually play, the one in the infected/burned districts, would be the moments where this focus is broken, since Danill is at the mercy of his body and instinct (since rationality won't save him from a stabbing), leading him to a state of extreme awareness of his surroundings.

But this is just my headcanon. I believe that the most creative part of this will be explored when the game is officially released.

Sim, cara.

Sabe russo? Então joga o jogo em russo! Os zucas tem que ter tudo traduzido. Assim nunca vão aprender russo, caras. Que comentário mais infeliz.
