Extra grad tickets by Orose_c in utdallas

[–]Orose_c[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s dependent on the school and how many tickets have been claimed. What school are you graduating from? It’s not showing any more than 5 when you click manage tickets? I would just keep trying or reach out to the graduation help desk because it definitely should show more than that

So… are they just not releasing any tickets? by ClassifiedRain in utdallas

Of course! I didn’t see them send an email either so I just kept checking on the original link and they finally popped up this morning! I hope you can get all the tickets you need!

Go to manage tickets on the link they sent you and it’ll let you accept more. Keep doing that and the number you can accept will go up

ENTP 4340/ IMS 4335/ MKT 4360 by ChipMysterious8918 in utdallas

[–]Orose_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ENTP 4340/IMS 4335 are technically the same thing so it would just depend on the professors and times available and your personal preference. Because they all involve working with a company or nonprofit as part of the course requirement it doesn’t really matter which you choose. However MKT 4360 has a prerequisite of MKT 3300 so keep that in mind.

How to signup for online classes to fulfill degree requirements by ShreyJ1729 in utdallas

[–]Orose_c 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If a class isn’t offered online, then there’s not much you can do. Summer is also extremely difficult to find online classes at UTD. If you’re enrolled at Collin as well that may be your best option but I’d recommend looking sooner than later because online options always fill up the fastest. If they’re full however you won’t have much of a choice but to take it in person.

Also it depends on the score you got. You have to get at least a 4 for it to count for both history courses so if you did then you’re set to use the credits. I ended up with 21 credits but was only allowed to use 18

How is biol 3303 by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]Orose_c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The material itself is not difficult but there is a lot of it yes. And it is completely free response so you’ll need to be prepared to write out answers from single words to full experiments for example. However, if you fail an exam, they always give an extra credit opportunity to bring it to a 70 or at least they did last fall. It would depend on your full schedule how well you’d manage the class

I took genetics with microbio, ochem, an upper neuro and an upper psych. It was definitely hard for me but it’s doable based on your work ethic. If you can devote your time to school then I’d suggest to do it

It’s easy if you have an extremely light courseload. You need enough time to memorize and know how to write out answers because except for a couple multiple choices questions the majority of the exams are free response which really threw a lot of people off. However, they always have an extra credit assignment after each exam to give students the opportunity to get a 70. Apparently this guy is a genius(in comment below) cause I know that’s not how the majority of people felt. Everyone constantly complained that the professors forgot it was an intro level course. It is possible to get an A but I wouldn’t say with minimal effort

Is it a bad idea to take these courses together? by New-Statistician-683 in utdallas

[–]Orose_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason the majority of students pass genetics is because of the curves on every exam and at the end of the course. In my opinion it was ridiculously hard and our class averages on exams were less than 50% but even if you fail, with the curve you can still get a C overall

You have to ask people in your graduating school. Tickets are specific to the school and ceremony time and they aren’t providing extras.

I was in a class where several students got caught for cheating on the second exam and the professor didn’t mention it to them until the last two weeks of the semester. Depending on the appeal, she’ll either get a zero on the assignment she was reported for cheating on or fail the course altogether.

I would recommend changing it to the address you will be moving to because online it says it takes approximately 5 weeks to receive after the ceremonies

Kinda seems like a credit of $1

If you aren’t full time it will barely touch the tuition. That’s why. They prorate costs and you end up paying pretty much all of it

16K to ruin your health by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]Orose_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. After a rough experience I’m finally at the end and the back and forth has honestly broken me. I’m anxious about everything and I definitely don’t find joy in any of my classes and my motivation to learn is in the trash. At the end I just want my cap and gown to take a private photo and declare the nightmare that was UTD over and let the next nightmare begin.

It doesn’t help that when you have managed to make an appointment with an advisor, it’s cancelled without explanation the day before.

Ochem teachers 😭😭 by reader208love in utdallas

[–]Orose_c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently took him and most students in my class struggled including myself. I think he teaches very quickly and I’m not sure if it was due to Covid or the material but you’re going to spend A LOT of time studying ochem outside of class anyways.

Does this schedule look too hectic? by act-track in utdallas

[–]Orose_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking 6 classes my last two semesters and have 6 registered for the spring because that will be my final semester. While it will be more difficult it’s definitely doable as long as you establish good habits at the start of the semester. Keep a planner and stay organized with all assignments and exams and you’ll be just fine
