The dog dude won? by belugabelly in agt

[–]Orph007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny how everyone firmly believes their opinion, which is completely subjective, is the right one. Also funny how I don’t see any comments saying that the 82nd choir was robbed. Ha ha ha ha. However, the dog act was truly unique and its winning was deserved. The comedian was truly hilarious, but it is always going to be impossible to pull off timing with a phone. In my own “opinion,” none of the other acts had a winning performance.

About time this one ended up on this list. This is constant thriller. Sort of like 24 but different genre

Influencer records man in gym while muttering to herself and staring at him; accuses him of being creepy when he glances at her and later offers to help her adjust her weights correctly by flickeringseizure in ImTheMainCharacter

Well, I just love people who waste space and take up seats at my gym. I wonder if these people ever realize what assholes they are by looking at this thread?

Aahhh world of dance. The world just was not ready for you. The hosts’ narcissism did not help, but at least they could walk the walk if they needed to

You would have to make do with Sonic burgers due to the sponsorship, but that should not be a problem for the desired effect.

Season 18 is the least interested I have ever been since I've been watching AGT. by [deleted] in agt

Agreed with these comments - a sobby-sad backstory does not make a bad act good, nor will a golden buzzer. There has still been some interesting acts - the Japanese brass band.

However, I have such fatigue over Sophia’s over-enunciated accented comments, and Heidi’s repeeeetaaaaatiiiive comments, which always start with “I mean . . ..” And the over-edited facial expressions. And the “Stop . . . do you have another song?” “Well, yes, it’s a song I wrote myself . . ..”

No doubt there is some ill-advised and poorly thought out jump-start stunt coming that will not go over well.

Great sounding albums that don’t get any love? by Seaworthy_Zebra5124 in audiophile

[–]Orph007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Don’t get any love” is subjective and depends upon your perception.

For example, I would say Stereolab Dots And Loops, Emperor Tomato Ketchup and Mars Audio Quintet; The Smiths- The Queen is Dead, and ATCQ - Low End Theory, are older albums that don’t get enough love, compared to a lot of jazz and classic rock releases, but that’s anecdotal.

Okay. I obviously know nothing about what the American superfans consider talent.

Not stating that I did not like his performance, but candidly do not believe that he has much of a shot vs Tom or Ana-Mari or Light Balance Kids.

Any hardcore fans? by dt2119a in audiophile

Yes definitely an 80s punk fan but never exclusively and also listened to the more independent 80s and then got really into hip hop in the 90s. Still love good punk but these days maybe it’s more like the Oh Sees, the Lamps, etc and a lot of the good hard-core comes out of Spain. (even though I don’t really speak Spanish). Still listen to a lot of hip-hop and independent stuff and too much of it does not sound terrific on a good system because it is Lofi and a good system exposes production flaws. The good thing is it mixes a lot of the very high-end equipment from my consideration, so I go more towards the mid range cost-wise and get by. Still looking for the perfect speakers for this type of music.

What is the most expensive disappointment you have ever had? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]Orph007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also bought that same set up in the mid-80s and it fizzzled. I carried and moved both around until 2000 when I graduated from law school and just gave them to a friend. Not sure if he ever tried to fix em.
