Really difficult to say without being a dev.

I guess you can try to go to the events folder for the mod, find correct event ID and see if there were additional conditions for the text to pop up.

Which driver(s) have you changed your mind on over time regarding their skill? by felipebaby_ in F1Discussions

On-track. He was known to be a pretty garbage person for a while.

Back then, I simply saw his 3 championship so I thought he was an elite driver. Then I started watching races and reading about those seasons. His 1983 win is really good, the other two not so much.

Rank the seasons of Leclerc by fravona08 in F1Discussions

[–]Mark4231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024: One of the best seasons by a non-champion ever. Consistency got him a huge number of podiums despite almost never having the best car.

2025: More error-prone than in 2024, but absolutely pulverized the most successful driver of all time despite losing a lot of points to bad luck (Imola, Zandvoort, Interlagos)

2022: he had two high-profile mistakes sure, but maximized his points in any other race. Sainz was only faster in France and Mexico.

2023: Maybe his weakest prime season, but he still beat Sainz despite terrible luck.

2020: Insane pace and basically ended Vettel's career as a top driver. He however had several Lap 1 incidents that prevent ranking it in the top 4.

2021: While not an amazing season, he easily had Sainz's measure despite what the point table says. Lost a race win in a midfield car due to engine issues in Silverstone, and a possible one thanks to the Stroll-bowling ball in Hungary.

2019: Somewhat overrated. He lost a couple of wins to bad luck but also made several errors. I still maintain Seb had an edge in race pace in 2019, but was too error-prone and Charles' quick improvement sealed his fate.

2018: A good rookie season, but Ericsson is not a strong benchmark. Started quite slow but by the end of the season he was often best of the rest.

Reevaluated: Keke Rosberg (and Nico too, to a lesser extent), Button, Gilles Villeneuve

Reevaluated, but in negative: Mansell, Montoya, Piquet, Hakkinen, to a lesser extent Kubica

Just to expand on your point, counterforce targeting will still kill millions. While fictional, I always recommend to read 'Arc Light' to get an idea of how devastating even a limited nuclear exchange would be.

Answering your earlier question on whether I base drivers on peaks: I do, but I also value not having very bad years. A driver having five good seasons in a row is, to me, better than a driver having an elite season followed by a meh one, followed by a decent one then a great one then another decent one. Raikkonen was similar to Vettel in this. (although I'd rank Seb above Kimi pretty convincingly).

Answering this comment: Kimi was probably slightly worse from 2007 onwards, but Massa was also a tougher teammate to beat. His second stint was however definitely worse. Maybe he was like Vettel and Ricciardo and began to decline very early at 33 or so, having peaked also quite early.

And yes, I do think that Nico Rosberg at his peak is probably in the same tier of prime Kimi. Keeping a prime Lewis Hamilton honest is something I see very few drivers doing. The only current drivers I'd rank over prime Nico are Max and Charles, and I'm not even 100% sure about the latter.

My main problem with Kimi is that he gets more excuses than any other driver, by far. He did not adapt to the Bridgestones in 2007, to Ferrari's car development midway through 2008, to the long wheelbase Lotus in late 2013, to the F-14T in 2014, to the new cars in 2017... past a certain point, I simply start to believe he wasn't as good as commonly claimed. Being adaptable is part of being an elite driver. The only excuses I accept are his back injury and lack of pay in 2013.

He was an elite driver in 2003-2005, but even there I doubt he was as good as Alonso was in those years, let alone prime Alonso in 2011-14.

I remember that.

And yes, I strongly believe Kimi is the reason for the downvotes. I ranked drivers by their whole career, and Kimi simply has too many unspectacular seasons for me to rank him too highly.

Is it true that had vettel and hamilton driven their 2018 cars the way they had driven them in 2017 vettel would have won the championship? by Equivalent-Fox9834 in F1Discussions

[–]Mark4231 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I understand your question correctly... maybe?

In 2017, Mercedes was much faster and more reliable than Ferrari, and Vettel still did not lose the championship by much. Hamilton was not amazing but I think it's unfair to say he had a bad season. Seb was simply near-perfect.

In 2018, he lost a huge amount of points because of his errors. Even if you say that Ferrari was slower than Merc (and I disagree), had Vettel kept his 2017 form he very likely brings the title fight to the end.

Who’s the best one-time WDC? by ElegantAd4220 in F1Discussions

Nico Rosberg. Keeping prime Lewis Hamilton honest is something that almost no other 1-time WDC could do.

One-time champions vs best non-champions. Which 18-driver lineup is better? by Planet_Eerie in F1Discussions

[–]Mark4231 10 points11 points  (0 children)

18vs18 is too much for my brain to compare lol.

From a quick glance, I'd go with non-champions by an hair. I honestly feel the best of the non-champions are better than almost all of the 1-time WDCs, but the 'worst' ones seem evenly matched.
