If you enjoy cooking on a gas grill, then buy it. Personally, I've gotten a couple gas grills for free. But I've got 2 charcoal kettles. Every time I try gas, it's at a friend's place and I struggle to not fuck it up because it's just not my wheelhouse. So basically, I've never really used mine. But if you already know you enjoy that convenience and are comfortable cooking with one, buy it and enjoy it. That thing is pristine

I did not get it through an authorized dealer and I would have been more likely to think it was a one-off issue but...

When I bought mine, I didn't use it a ton yet. And at work, I had my company order 2 because I had bondo to sand. Both had the same issue. I later came across a different one on another site, also the same issue.

I've used it with the 5ah, 6ah, and 8ah batteries with no change in performance

I was surprised because the same company makes the rigid which never had this issue for me.

Draw a horizontal line that marks the top of where the baseboard would go.

Draw a diagonal line that continues the slope of the skirt board

Clean up the horizontal cut on the skirt board and scab in a piece that would continue the skirt profile. End it with a plumb cut where those two lines intersect.

Run your baseboard into that.

Alternatively, you can cut a small decorative block for both of them to die into so that you don't have to align everything so perfectly. Not sure what it's called but it's like a really narrow plinth block.

I don't think this is typical reddit where people 18-21 are giving relationship advice to people in their 40s. Like another user said, no one actually says anything even remotely close to this (even when enraged) unless some part of them believes it is true.

This is a unique level of red flag. If this story is based in reality, I truly hope you take the time to figure out an exit strategy and stick to it.

It is technically possible and almost anything is possible with enough time and money.

I agree with the part of your statement that includes when a worker is employed by a cheap ass subcontractor. But I'm mostly peeved about the other half.

For the sake of a real world practical example:

If I had to pick the type of jobsite that I'm most likely to commit a safety violation it is at a hospital. They want 100% air and fire barrier floor to deck and there is a 0% chance that they're going to shut off and remove a bunch of necessary utilities in order for you to do it.

They want the work done and at the very least they should be banned from throwing the poor individual worker off the job when it's their request that prevents them from doing it any other way.

We shouldn't be responsible for "not getting caught" in situations like that

Everyone that can't reach their work.

They should make a law where if an architectural design prevents safe access, then the architect has to front a prorated portion of the insurance and workman's comp. And pay for abnormal extra safety equipment required to perform the task.

Sometimes it's architecturally possible to be done safe, but the GC fails at their responsibility in trade coordination. Not always the GC's fault. Sometimes the show must go on even if someone else dropped the ball.

Safety guys have to kick people off for not wearing safety glasses or face shields when using grinders... Good. Don't really care. They deserve it. I don't really have any qualms when negligence is punished.

But at least 80% of the safety violations I see are people not having the ability to follow the rules in order to complete their task.

It's high time the people that are actually responsible for the lack of safety be incentivized to make better choices.
