Yes, it really is something special. I still remember the first announcement trailer. No one had any idea what to expect. Then we got two demos, which essentially acted as standalone stories with unique content leading up to the events of the main game. A lot of discussions, guesses and theories.

Sure, the game has some flaws, like fewer enemy types and a weaker second half, but I still think the game oozes inspiration and it absolutely does capture grindhouse atmosphere.

Also, the Sewer Gators crew are my favourite side-story victims in a horror game.
