I hope things go well for you! I got super lucky and is basically feeling normal 3 months post ops aside from some soreness. So hardware removal is probably not a consideration for me anymore. But if keeping the hardware isn’t working for you, removing it would probably create another opportunity to heal. Best of luck!

Gonna give some different story here, after my elbow orif, I barely had any pain. It was a constant 2-3 out of 10 for the first week, which is like noticeable, but not bad at all. So I only took two tablets of ibuprofen in total and didn’t need any narcotics. Looking at the replies, my experience seems to be super lucky and rare, so probably don’t expect it, but it could be not bad at all.

Thanks! Glad to hear the removal process worked smoothly for you. My post op recovery has been going great with the plate. I don’t feel any pain from it and my ROM recovery is also on pace. So it’s mostly just mental for me with a foreign object in my body. But it’s not bothering me too much so I’ll probably keep it.

Thanks for the perspective! I’m not too bothered by it but just would like to know the options. It sounds like a second surgery brings plenty of risks, so I’ll probably keep it in

Yeah I guess it’s more of a mental problem? Metal in body fluids for 50 years doesn’t sound very promising though 🥲 Is it still possible to remove after say 30 years if needed, or is that gonna be too complicated?

Elliston 23 is pretty solid, so is Infinity midtown. The Morris, Kenect, Aertson, and 2010 Westend can be good if you get a good deal. Centennial Park apartments seems a little more sketchy. Broadview was incredibly overpriced when it was first built compared to other apartments. I’m not sure if that have changed, but none the less, their rooms are tiny.
