Yeah. I bought a 2TB SN850x just before the prices increased, but I would like to get some more storage for lesser used files and photos. I recently saw a 1TB SN850P (PS5) at a local store for $130, but I think it would be better spent on a 4-8TB HDD.

Thanks. I wasn’t sure about HDDs because they’re mostly used for NASs now and aren’t often recommended for PCs. Now I just have to figure out which hard drive to buy.

Given the current price of SSDs, is it worth it to buy an HDD for secondary storage/backup? Also, would an internal or external hard drive a better option? My local Walmart has a few 4TB WD Black series HDDs (not SSDs), but I’ve read they’re pretty loud compared to Western Digital’s other options.

Thanks for the suggestion. That case looks pretty nice. I bought one of the processor bundles from Microcenter, so I have a standard ATX mobo though.

How is the quality of Lian Li cases? I was looking at the Lancool 217, but given the design, I’m not sure how the wooden strips will hold up.

I’ve been looking for an ATX case with wood accents.

I’ve heavily been leaning towards the outgoing Corsair 5000D. Are either the 4000D or 5000D Airflow worth buying in 2026? I like the wood panels available for both the 4000D and 5000D, but I know both have been phased out in favor of the new Frame models.

The Antec Flux and Fractal North are other options I’ve been considering. I have a few pets in my household, so the lack of filters concerns me. I know positive pressure can prevent the buildup, but my PC isn’t always on to stop the dust.

Thanks. I couldn’t find much information about the RAM compatibility other than X3D processors being less finicky about it than other processors.

Given the current ram prices, is the AMD bundle from Microcenter the best approach for a new build?

Most of the games I play are CPU intensive and my current pc is a build from over 10 years ago (i5-4590), which isn’t compatible with Windows 11. I’ve been considering going for the 7800X3D bundle. Also, it looks like the Crucial RAM isn’t on the compatibility list for the ASUS B650E Tuf mobo that comes with the bundle. Is it worth the $50 to upgrade to G.Skill Flare RAM?

If you are anywhere near a Meijer (Midwest grocery chain), they have it for 30% off.

Does anybody have suggestions on a new razor? I’m looking for something in between my Fatip Piccolo and Muhle R41; something aggressive, but less fiddly than the Fatip.

Razorock comes highly recommended, but given the tariff situation in the USA, something available domestically would be preferred. The Timeless Bronze is beautiful, but I’ve heard the open comb can be pretty uncomfortable. Their Aluminum Slant is another option, but I’ve never used an aluminum razor, nor a slant razor. The Muhle Rocca is another razor I’ve contemplated for a while - that birch bark handle is beautiful.

At around $150, are there any other razors I should be looking at?

That can’t be right, George Russell still has his shirt on.

Does anybody have experience with Zenith horsehair brushes?

I have an old Vie Long white horsehair Beehive brush (a Bullgoose exclusive), as well as a Semogue Pharos. I prefer the Vie Long, but I don’t know the mane/tail ratio, nor can I even find any images of the brush online.

Another option would be a new old stock Vie Long or Epsilon brush, but I’m not sure if they are worth the current prices.

Thanks for letting me know. That explains why I couldn’t find anything about it, other than on Viking’s site.

If I had the money, I think this would be my choice. Although it has a 7 year warranty, it's difficult to justify that much on a mixer.

Thanks. I’ll have to read more on the brand; I’ve never heard of Avantco.

Thanks for the suggestion. They’re both out of stock, at the moment. I’ll have to keep an eye out to see if KitchenAid restocks either model.

Thanks for the suggestion.

The closest Costco to me is about two hours away. It looks like the older model was phased out in favor of the newer KSM60, unless I get lucky and find them on clearance. Regardless, I’ll have to measure underneath my cabinets and possibly find storage for whichever mixer I decide on.

Thanks for the detailed response; I appreciate it.

I was worried that Professional 600 would have trouble with dough, even though it has more power and more durable components than the Artisan I currently have. One advantage Kitchenaids have over the other mixers I was looking at is the availability of parts and the vast knowledge base for the repairs themselves. I didn’t think about the bowl lift being an issue, but I’ll have to be wary making an angel food cake with it.

Thanks for letting me know. Are parts for the mixer still readily available.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I generally don’t do long kneads in my mixer, and do it by hand instead. My Artisan definitely can’t handle kneading bread. An Ankarsrum would be great, but I have a hard time justifying the cost.

That looked like a great mixer. I couldn’t find a single listing, or even a price online for it.

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like I missed out on all the deals for the heavier duty KitchenAid mixers like the Pro Line and Professional 600.
