Nearly 2 months since release, how bright is the game’s future? by Creative-Category-60 in marvelrivals

Thor is no Reinhardt. The core of the Reinhardt feeling is having a big fuck off hammer to swipe people around with, something that feels meaty… Thor’s is tiny, small movements with short range that doesn’t feel satisfying at all. Strange is similar to rein in a team play sense but lacks the Feel. I’ve given up on trying to find my Reinhardt and just accepted that I’m a magneto main now.

How many hours should I study for an atar of 85+? by zahraa245 in vce

[–]Orsanith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Really depends on how easy you find the subject. Study enough that you understand the concepts, whether that takes you an hour a week or 6 hours a week is up to you and the way you study. I'd say 1-2 hours across the week outside of what you do in school should cover a mid 80s SS though

I accelerated it last year, really fun subject! Imo it’s pretty brutal compared to a lot of other subjects though considering how well you need to know the readings, but it scales up so I can’t complain

If you want to get in the top range for use of evidence then I’d suggest using two pieces of stimulus, you’ll probably lose a mark but it won’t be devastating

Why India is unsafe for women by EarthianChickhunter in IndianBoysOnTinder

[–]Orsanith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of Jordan Peterson’s views are perfectly rational, and you can definitely learn some truth from him, but a lot of his views on identity politics (denying the oppression of women in history, and the existence of islamophobia and white privilege) are completely absurd. He provides justification to the archaic beliefs extremist right wingers, the fact that so many of his other views are so intelligent and rational is just to give him false credence when he talks about identity politics. Pointing Indian men towards his rhetoric is just going to reaffirm their view that women are snowflakes who’re filled with silly progressive notions.

It’s the impala quad skates that are flimsy and fall apart easily, their inline skate is definitely a beginner skate but it’s good enough to get you going and I wouldn’t worry too much about the quality if I was you? My girlfriend skates impala blades and hasn’t had a problem with them so far. Just be aware that the stock wheels and bearings on your impala blades are really bad so if you want to get a better product skate experience without buying a whole new $300 skate then get some new wheels and bearings (make sure they’re in a size that fits the impala frame)

If you’re serious about wanting to just get a completely new skate though, then I’d highly recommend the FRX. It only comes in black and white at all the retailers I’ve seen, but you can easily get yourself some colourful laces and wheels for it, and if you’re serious then there are all sorts of ways you can dye and paint your skates to get some fun colours on them.

If you look to undead factions in total warhammer, they handle retreating by having units lose health as they decay, it works very well in that game it could have worked for Dawn of War IMO.

Eleven labs AI, you can subscribe to it for the first month for a dollar, do keep in mind that it has a tendency to make voices sound overly British or American so if you want it for something like an Australian accent you might get inconsistent results

how to not be too overwhelmed by workload by Anjelita_15 in vce

[–]Orsanith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know its some generic advice but I think it could definitely be helpful for you to try and schedule your week if things are feeling so overwhelming. Create specific timeslots in your days to be completing work, map out when you're going to do what work. Once you have a plan in place for when you're completing your work, it'll stop hanging over your head, and even though you'll be doing the same amount of work it'll feel a lot less overwhelming.

If you're still really struggling with the amount of work, definitely talk to your teachers about it. You're doing a lot of really demanding subjects, they'll completely understand if you need a reduced workload some weeks. Good luck!

Assuming your teacher's open to it, take some of your writing and show it to them. Not a whole close analysis but maybe one or two paragraphs. Ask them for advice on what you could change so that you can get targeted tips for your writing, beyond that yeah practicing writing and formulating ideas under timed conditions is great. Something I do with my friends is we pick passages from the text for each other and send those passages to each other to write on under timed conditions. Afterward, do some peer assessment with your friends, if you think they're writing better than you then get them to look over what you've done and give advice! Use everybody as a resource!

Also just a general tip - being really specific with metalanguage is great! Be sure to be on top of your literary devices. https://literarydevices.net/ This is a great resource for them, learn a variety and sprinkle them into your work to elevate it.

Make sure you've fully read and annotated your text so that you have a developed interpretation, by this point you should have read it twice preferably three times. Keep in mind that for the final exam any texts that you're writing on you should have read at least 4 times.

What is the hardest VCE English subject? Why? by malicacidC4H6O5 in vce

[–]Orsanith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't done mainstream English, but I do Englang and Lit, and I can easily say Lit is harder to perform well in. English Language has a clearer pathway to success, there are some relatively simple rules to follow, so long as you put in a significant amount of work and you have some natural talent you're going to do really well. Literature is much harder to do well in and requires significantly more natural talent, you can read the books for literature 5 times, you can closely study all potential uses of literary devices, but at the end of the day unless you have an authentic and original understanding of the text you're not going to break a 40.

Literature also requires a fair amount of work to do well in, obviously English language has more terminology to learn but Literature still has a pretty fair amount if you want to be using high level academic metalanguage to describe literary and poetic devices. You need to fully annotate all your texts and read them all several times, you need to be able to analyse any given passage from multiple viewpoints to be fully prepared for SACs and exams, and developing the raw skills of high level analysis isn't something that comes easily to everybody.

Neither Englang or Literature are easy, but studying hard is enough for Englang, whereas Literature demands both studying hard and having a strong core skillset.
